"I really hope we can see some swans." Jay said as they walked around the huge lake.
They had been walking for about ten minutes now, talking about anything. The topics just came up out of nowhere which was perfect for both of them, so that their conversation wouldn't turn awkward.
Nya took a look at the lake, seeing some ducks, but no swans. "I'm sure there's gonna be some around here." She reassured him.
When she turned back to look at him, she saw him staring right back at her, almost trying to take a good look of her for an internal image. When she felt her face burning slightly, she quickly turned away again, smiling.
The fact that they were walking right next to each other, actually closer than in the beginning, didn't help her. He saw her blushing. Now he was blushing, himself. Great. He then also turned away, praying it wasn't too awkward.
"Nya!"
They both stopped in their tracks when they heard a masculine voice shout from behind them. Turning around, they saw a young man in a green jumper, grey jeans and platinum blonde hair rushing over to them.
"Lloyd!" Nya yelled back when she recognized who he was.
Nya took a few steps towards him, embracing him in a hug. They both giggled while holding each other.
Jay, in the meantime, was raging from the inside. 'Who is that? How do they know each other? Why are they hugging? Is he her-'
"Who's that?" Lloyd asked after they parted, looking at Jay.
Nya turned around to look at Jay, noticing his stiff posture. She walked back next to him, pointing at him with her thumb. "That's Jay." Then she turned towards said man. "Jay, this is Lloyd." She smiled.
Jay crossed his arms, looking away. "I didn't know you had a... boyfriend." He muttered the last word under his breath, though it was quite loud.
Nya's eyes widened, glancing at Lloyd who also stared back at her wide-eyed. After a few seconds of complete silence, they both broke out in laughter, confusing Jay.
"What?" Jay asked a bit too sharply.
The girl wiped away a stray tear while trying to calm down. "Lloyd? Me? Really?" Then she broke out in laughter again. She sighed, feeling normal again. "Jay, we're good friends, nothing more. Besides," She walked up to Lloyd and nudged him. "Mr Greenie here has a crush." She said in a sing-song voice.
Jay felt relief wash over him. Was he really jealous?
Lloyd gasped. "I do not!" He defended himself.
"Suuure." Nya smiled sheepishly.
"Well, you have a crush too." He crossed his arms, looking away like a little child.
Jay's eyes widened. 'She has a crush? Can it be me? What if it's not me?!' He panicked from the inside.
Nya's face turned red. "I don't, Lloyd. You know that." She said, annoyed.
"Mhm, yeah." He teased her. "Tell that to the blushing mess that's your face." He smirked.
At that point, Jay felt as if he wasn't meant to be there anymore. His lips turned downwards. He felt sad, really. She had a crush, apparently. There was no way it was him out of all people.
"You know what?" Nya took out her phone.
"What are you doing?" Lloyd asked, almost panicking.
"Calling Rumi to see if she wants a boyfriend. I mean, you shouldn't care, right?" She casually dialed up Harumi's number and put the phone up to her ear, hearing the first beep.
