Dabi POV

I stood in the shadows of his room unsure of how to break the silence. This was probably only the third time I had met with him alone. And the first two times had been about Izuku so I figured this time would be the same.

"Pro hero Hawks approached us with a proposition to join the League. He offered to use his position to spy for us. I want you to check the credibility of his words and report to me." He spoke.

I definitely didn't expect this. "Why do we need that feathery bastard's help? We already have Izu- Midoriya stationed as a temporary informant. And who's to say he isn't being sent to spy on us? We don't -"

I broke off as I suddenly felt my every nerve stand at attention. A cold trickle of sweat meandered down my back. His mere shadow emanated that sense of forebodement.

"I expect you to not question my motives." he hissed.

I shuddered. My casual, indifferent stance shifted to provide whatever little defence against All For One.

But he broke off and settled back into his chair, coughing. Even being menacing took effort.

"And it is wise to keep your enemies closer." He continued. "If he is being sent to spy on our activities, then we can catch him and crush him right then and there."

Huh.

I feigned impassiveness. "Well, whatever. When and where?"

*present*

I turned into the dark alley knowing full well that any civilian with an inkling of self-preservation would have noticed how shady it looked. But my attention was diverted to the flurry of red feathers now in my face.

"Someone call the Mardi Gras boats. We found their flashy bird centrepiece."

He stepped forward and grinned, "Aw. You think I'm the highlight of the show."

I moved closer, challenging his fierce gaze with a bored expression, "No. I just think you're a pompous prick with no sense of time."

He stepped back, his hands above his head with that stupid grin still on his face, " I apologise. There was an old lady who said I looked like her long lost son. Well we were at her chicken farm so- "

I rolled my eyes. How many more times would I have to meet with this man child?

He abruptly turned his head in the direction of the street. I followed his gaze and found orange hues of the sunset pervading a near abandoned street. Took him long enough to realise that there had been a bystander there just a few moments ago.

He solemnly said, "We should stick to the warehouse."

"Smartest thing you've said since you came. But it won't take long today. I just came to tell you that he's agreed to talk to you directly. The next new moon. Usual spot. 8 pm. And be on time."

"Ooh guess you want to spend as much time as possible with me." he said with a humourless chuckle. His eyes were steely and focussed like he had achieved the objective he had set out for. I knew I had.

I turned on my heel and began walking away. I half expected him to stop me with some smartass comment but he was silent. The next moment, I heard the familiar sound of the ascent of his wings.

Izuku POV

The room was dingy and dim. My hand tightly clasped in the woman's beside me. She seemed to be frantically conversing with someone on the other side of the table.
