"I'm her best friend. I always know what goes on in that brain of hers, even when she doesn't know herself." She giggled.
"I'll remember that." I said, waving my finger in the air.
We drove around the sunset strip a little, but it was getting late. Oliv was going to stay at our place tonight and then we would check on Baz in the morning. We parked in front of our place and we all jumped out of the packed car. I let Oliv stay in my room and I slept on the floor. I didn't get much sleep. Not because of the hard ground, but rather because Baz was in the hospital.
———
I heard Oliv get up so I jumped up.
"Oh, sorry, did I wake you?" She asked.
"Oh, no no no. I just couldn't sleep. Normally Axl makes breakfast, so you can just wait in the kitchen while I take a shower." I said. Oliv nodded and made her way to the kitchen. I turned on the shower. I took off my shirt and looked in the mirror. I examined myself before taking off my pants and hopping in the shower.
I got out and teased my hair and wrapped a towel around my waist. I walked out of the bathroom into my room and put on a random shirt and pants that were laying on the floor.
I walked out and went to my usual routine.
"STEVEN, SLASH, IZZY, BREAKFAST, NOW!" I yelled through the hallway. The doors slowly creaked open and they all emerged from their separate rooms. They moaned as they walked past me and down the stairs. I smelled bacon and eggs.
Oliv was already eating and the boys all collected around the table. We all ate and they got ready. I watched TV with Oliv until everyone was prepared.
They all hopped in the car, Popcorn as enthusiastic as ever, as we zoomed off. When we got to the hospital I ran in and checked in as fast as I could, eager to see my girl.
They followed slowly behind as I opened the door to the room. She was asleep. The guys just stood in the doorway as I kneeled next to the sleeping beauty. I stroked her hair and she woke up.
"Duffy," she said quietly. I put my index finger over my mouth to signal her to be quiet. She closed her eyes as I continued to stroke her head.
"See? I knew you would be ok," I said softly. She kept her eyes closed, but she smiled.
"Are you feeling better, sweetheart?" I asked. She continued to smile and she nodded. She wrapped her arms around my upper body and I hugged her back.
"We'll leave you guys alone," Slash said with a wink. I glanced over at him and gave a smile. The guys walked off and I held Baz's head against my chest. I kissed the top of her head and kept her close.
"I'm sorry this happened to you, baby," I said calmingly.
"It's not your fault," She mumbled into my shirt. "You couldn't have known," she finished.
"When are you going to be discharged?" I asked. She backed away and looked up at me.
"Today if I stay in a good condition." she said. I moved the hair out of her face and laid her back down.
"I know I seemed ungrateful, but thank you for taking care of me. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." She said.
"Shhh, it's ok." I whispered. She closed her eyes and I stroked her cheek. They turned a little pink and a grin crept onto her face.
"You really know how to get her out of her shell," a voice said from behind me. I saw Coal. "I've known her for her whole life and yet I've never seen her blush." He whispered, as she seemed to fall asleep again. She was holding my hand against her heart.
"Even I could never get her to do that. There's something special about you, Duff. Just don't break her heart." He reminded.
"I would never," I said as I kissed her cheek.
"You're a good guy." He complimented, then walking out of the room. I sat there as she held my hand and I watched her chest rise and fall. I examined her body and admired her peaceful face.
———
"Alright, you guys can leave whenever you're ready. She's gonna be tired, so have some patience. For the next few days she will need extra rest. I would recommend getting a milkshake or something, just to go easy on her intestines. Got everything?" She asked.
"Yes, thank you doctor. I'm so glad she's doing better." I said.
"Also, I just wanted to say, you guys would be a really cute couple." She winked with a giggle. I chuckled and looked back at Baz while the doctor closed the door. I leaned over Baz and stared at her beautiful face. I gave her a short kiss on the lips, but she quickly lifted up her arms and pulled me back into the kiss. I felt a shiver down my spine at her touch and sparks flew every which way when our lips made contact. I melted into her and laid against her chest. I finally pulled away and she had a smug expression on her face.
"Mmm... I liked that," she said. I giggled and picked her up bridal style. I looked both ways down the hallway until I saw the guys smirking and talking to a young nurse.
"Stop flirting! Let's go!" I yelled. They all rolled their eyes at me and walked over. We piled into the small car and I let Baz sit in my lap. As you can imagine, that made me very happy.
I held her waist as Izzy smirked and examined us.
"Duff, you look like you're enjoying that too much," he said. I flipped him off.
"Oh shut it." I winked at Baz who was now looking over her shoulder at me.
"I do have to agree with Izzy, but I think it's Baz who is enjoying it too much." Oliv said with a wink. Baz just glanced at me and smiled. Everyone laughed as we made our way home.
