"What was that about?" Steven asked.
"To be honest, I don't know." I admitted. He gave me a hug and we started to walk back to our place.
Baz' POV
I quickly run back to the house and slam the door behind me. I locked it and sat against the slab of wood. I was very out of breath, and a little scared. The sun had just set over the beautiful LA city, but it was bustling as ever.
"What was that about?" Oliv asked with a laugh.
"Embarrassment," I sighed.
"Oh, what'd you do this time?" She asked.
"I—uhhhhhhhhhh..."
"Well tell me!"
"ImayormaynothavejustkissedDuff," I yelled super fast.
"What was that?"
"I, I may, or may not, have just, kissed, McKagan." I sighed, still out of breath. She squealed with excitement.
"YOU. MY BEST FRIEND. JUST KISSED DUFF MCKAGAN?!" She screamed.
"Chill, he'll hear you from here." I laughed.
"I can't believe it!" She yelled. That's when I heard the phone ringing from my room. Great.
Oliv seemed to know who it was immediately and she ran over to my room.
"Hello!?" She sang in a sing-song voice.
"Oh, yeah, but first, why is she so out of breath and worried about something?" She asked, looking at me with a grin.
"OMG IT'S TRUE!" She yelled. I sighed and demanded the phone.
"Tell me ALL the details." She giggled, looking at me. She laughed a little as he spilled his guts to her.
"Oh my gosh, really?!" She shouted.
"Give. Me. The. Damn. PHONE!" I yelled. She snickered and handed it to me.
"Hey, Duffy. Sorry about her," I said as I gave Oliv 'the look'.
"Nahh, it's all good. It was also all lies." He laughed.
"Hey, yeah, so... why'd you run away?" He asked, my bestie still staring me down.
"I enjoyed it too much," I giggled. He laughed as well.
"Oh you don't even know," he chuckled.
"So, I was wondering, would you, like to— um, I'm bad at this, go on a date with me?" He asked.
"God, umm... ok. After the show tomorrow? We can hang at the bar? Does that count?" I asked.
He laughed. "Yes, it does. I'll pick you up before the show." He said. I could hear the pride in his voice.
Oliv squealed in the background. "And also, your bartender friend threatened me." He chuckled.
"That's George for ya." I laughed.
"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow!" I grinned and hung up.
Oliv looked at me.
"Ok, tomorrow, I'm doing your makeup, and hair, and everything. You're gonna look perfect!"
"Ugh why must you do this to me?!" I said dramatically.
"But for now, you need some sleep. You look tired." She said as she pulled up the covers and gave me a melatonin.
"Goodnight, bestie." I sleepily replied.
"Goodnight!" She cheered as she gave me a peck on the cheek and tucked me in. She smiled, then walked over to turn off the lights and left the room. Now's my chance. I quietly lifted up the phone and dialed the boy's number. Slash picked up.
"Gimme Duff please," I said. He handed the phone to Duff.
"What's up, girly?" He asked.
"My window is unlocked, so hurry up and get here so you can sneak in!" I complained. He chuckled at the plan and grabbed his keys.
"On my way," he said, then hanging up.
———
He climbed in the window and quietly waved. He accidentally hit his head on my light though, which caused a loud clink noise.
Oliv opened the door.
"Baz, what is the Giraffe doing here?" She asked mischievously.
"Nothing," I said. "I mean, what Giraffe?"
"Duff is standing right over your bed and I can see him. He's pretty hard to miss." She giggled. He laughed and sat down in the chair in the corner.
"He's just here to hang out, nothing else." I shrugged it off.
"What ever you say!" She said suspiciously and walked out the door.
"Ok, c'mon." I said, patting the spot next to me. He laid down with his hands behind his head and stared at the ceiling.
"Why did you want me to come over?" He asked.
"Do you want to honest reason or the reason that I would tell Oliv?" I questioned. He chuckled at the statement.
"Honest,"
"Ok, here I go. I missed sleeping next to you," I said as I hugged his waist. I noticed him blush and I returned the favor.
He rubbed the top of my head and continued looking at the ceiling, probably just thinking.
"Y'know, I've never felt like this before." I admitted.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"I've never missed someone like this. I miss your hugs, I miss your kisses, I miss your personality... I've never felt like that." I continued.
He put his arm around my back and pulled me closer to him.
"You mean, you've never been in love?" He asked.
"I guess," I sighed as I leaned into him more.
"I'm tired," I stated as I closed my eyes and leaned against his strong body.
"Goodnight baby," he said as he stroked my hair. I was already almost fully asleep.
———
I woke up in Duff's arms. He had a tight grasp around my body and there was no way I was escaping, even though I didn't really want too. I snuggled closer into his stomach. He was warm and cozy, and I just wanted to be like this forever. He tightened his grasp and kissed the top of my head.
"Thank you for staying with me all night," I sighed.
"Anything for you, girly." He chuckled.
The door opened and Oliv came in.
"Time for breakfast, you lovebirds." She moaned. Duff released me from his stranglehold of a snuggle and started to sit up, but I wouldn't let him.
"Where do you think you're going?" I mumbled into his shirt.
"Do I have to carry you to breakfast?" He asked.
"I guess you'll just have to find out," I giggled. He lifted me up and threw me on the couch.
"That oughta wake you up!" He yelled jokingly.
"Mission completed." I moaned as I rubbed my head.
