"So, they are like me?" She asked, still trying to understand what was happening. she had agreed to help, mainly to get out of that horrible interrogation room.

"Well, they are all mutants, each one with a different power." Charles answered, smiling at her- a sight she was in no way used to.

The three entered the room, Evelyn looking at each individual quickly before Charles got their attention: a timid looking man, a cheerful blonde woman, a raven haired woman who looked quiet grumpy, a red headed boy who was attempting to flirt with the grumpy woman, a dark skinned man who was laughing at the redheads attempts and a boy with blond hair who looked like being there was the worst thing in the world.

"Everyone!" Charles shouted, getting their attention, "this is Evelyn, she's going to be on the team as well."

The raven haired woman gave her a displeased look, most likely due to the fact Evelyn was in the exact same condition she was in when Charles came into the interrogation room, with greasy disheveled hair and dark under eyes, pale lips and overly dilated pupils. On the opposite end of the scale was the blonde woman, who jumped up and made her way over to the girl to greet her.

"Hi! I'm raven, it's so good to meet you!" She beamed at Evelyn.

The girl went to reply, but felt as if someone was strangling her vocal cords, making her unable to make a sound.

"Charles, is she okay?" Raven asked her brother.

"Not really, no..." he pressed his two fingers to his temple, attempting to see what was happening inside the girls mind, "... Hank, are you able to stitch someone up? Not a large gash, a medium sized one."

Hank looked at the man confused, "y-yes I can, why do you ask?"

"I can push past a barrier in her mind that she is unable to get through, they're controlling her through a chip in her leg."

___________

Hank looked around in the first aid kit to find what he would need to sew her leg back up, he had however not been able to find any type of scalpel, so he would have to make due with a small knife found in the mini kitchen.

"Evelyn, Hank is going to get that chip out of your leg, okay? You need to stay still." Charles told her gently, trying not to get her to panic.

Evelyn had no idea what was going on, feeling as if her mind had refreshed itself and removed all her memories. She watched as the Doctor came near her leg with the knife, so (on an impulse that she had no control over) she grabbed a larger knife from the knife block next to her, swinging it through the air.

Hank only just about managed to move out of the way in time, "can't you freeze her?!"

Charles spoke quietly, "I didn't think about that..." he pressed his fingers to his temple and froze the girl in place.

Hank managed to get the chip out without refraining any injuries, holding the little black device with the tweezers going in the first aid box. They all watched as Evelyn's facial features changed rapidly, jumping from confused, angry and then scared.

Charles unfroze her, all of them staying quiet awaiting her reaction. She stared at the chip, watching as it sat still on a metal plate. She stared it down so strongly that Sean felt himself grow rather uncomfortable. They all watched as she opened her eyes a little more, allowing the chip to become engulfed in flames.

The fire blazed high and strong, amazing Raven and almost impressing angel.

The fire went down, Evelyn looking up at the group surrounding her, then to the knife that was placed next to her with scorch marks on the blade and handle, "did I hurt anyone?" Her voice was small and afraid. Afraid she had done what she never wanted to do, but had done countless times.

She checked over the group to see if they were injured, her eyes staying on the tall blond boy for a reason she could not understand.

"Everyone's okay, Evelyn, don't worry." Raven spoke to her in a calming voice, reaching out slowly to move some hair out of the girls face.

She grabbed the woman's wrist harshly, letting go almost immediately after realising what she did, "sorry." Her voice had changed, no longer scared, now completely monotone, deprived of all emotion.

Alex felt his stomach turn slightly in pity for her, looking at her as she seemed so broken, so... screwed up. She looked like she hadn't seen the sun in weeks, or a nutritional meal in eons but she was still strangely pretty. He shook his head slightly, what was he thinking?
