My bully had to be Boun.

Chpater 10

Prem POV

It's the football season, everyone has been working hard these past few weeks. The whole rugby team and Sammy. While Arthur and Sammy were completely gone, I was stuck with the most annoying person Boun. He is annoying because he over-uses his power as captain, he calls me to practice in the oddest hours, he makes me practice for hours and just sits there and looks at me, let me be honest, people here just don't care about swimming as much as they care about rugby. So practically the whole team is here only for the sake of it, I'm not gonna compete with anyone, they are not going to hold a competition. Let's just say by chance there is a competition held by the school, Competing among the same team members, Boun and I would have to share the same medal. This is the only thing we match exactly. We talk now and then but it is only related to swimming but still he is the most annoying guy in the whole of New York City. Does he bully me? No, I don't think he does anymore, he only goes to extremes so that I can get better. But he is harmless, he wouldn't dare to do anything that can hurt me, because I'm just not as quiet as I used to be anymore. People know about me, I've been doing well in exams, I've made a decent amount of friends, not like best friends but yeah I'm at least half as popular as he is. 

Anyhow let's forget him, the school has been going crazy, this whole month schools all over New York will compete with each other in football. Arthur, Ben, and Dylan are playing, Sammy is cheerleading, and I, of course, am the mascot, but it's a secret no one knows, probably Boun may know because of the incident in the lockers room and obviously Sammy.

Today is the first match, it is going to be on our home field. The staff, the students, the band, the cheerleading squad, everyone is assembled on the bleachers. The opening ceremony was grand, I had so much fun only by looking at them, Sammy did a great job. The whole school noticed Dylan looking at Sammy and seemed blown away. After the routine ended he came running towards her and hugged her with the whole gear on, lifted her in the air, and spun her around. The whole school cheered except those girls who always gave trouble to her because of him. I'm pretty sure they are scheming already on what to do next with her. But Sammy looked happy, she smiled widely at Dylan which only made Dylan blush more. It was a cute site, no one can deny it, I even saw our science teacher going 'aww'. 

Okay, now it was my time, I won't deny that I am nervous, but the suit is covering me, so I should just go out there and have fun, I was under the bleachers so no one noticed me, I don't think anyone is even expecting to see Freddie the Stag tonight, they all knew that no one showed up to the tryouts for the school mascot so probably they just assumed that there would be no mascot today. But here I am, I wore the ever stinky head on and ran in the open.

Cheers, screaming, gasps, noise, and overpowering noise resounded the whole place, if at all this place had a roof I'm sure they would have punched a hole in it. And It was all for me, well, it was for Freddie mostly but yeah, I am Freddie at the moment. I did a cartwheel and just a few dance steps later the crowd seemed to love me. I became crazier and crazier because of the cheering, I did some stupid stuff, I fell, I slipped, I stumbled but they loved me no matter, they laughed too, trust me if I was in the bleachers among them I would have laughed as well, I'm getting the feeling that I am a funny person in general. I saw Boun sitting alone in the crowd. Is that a smile, wow he is smiling because of the funny stuff I do, it wasn't laughing, it was a mixture of shyness and admiration at the same time? He looks good when he is smiling though. 

The game started, Ben was so fast and he made a lot of points for our team. Dylan, Arthur, and the rest of the team were doing good too, we were leading, I may or may not have mocked the mascot of the other team who was a frog. We had a friendly, funny fight meant purely to entertain the crowd, we pushed and shoved each other playfully, I won't lie I'm having fun. Our team won and the celebration was crazy. I quickly changed and returned Freddie to the storage room. The hot gossip in town now was who the mascot was, we kept it as a secret so it gave the school a new thing to investigate and find out, I just hope no one finds out though, because it will be fun to sit along with them and make theories and guesses. 

"Prem, there you are..." Sammy caught up to me. "You were so good," she whispered. 

"No you were good," I complimented her. 

"Come on don't be so humble, the whole school is talking about you," 

"Haha, it's a good thing I guess"

"It's a great thing, but we need to make sure to not reveal your identity. The school we played against today is fine, but it's not that way with every school, they might end up giving trouble to you... Or not, but let's just not risk it okay" 

"I understand" I just smiled, this is a risky job, and for some odd reason it is giving me a kick. 

"Everybody..." Boun yelled through the mic "I need everybody's attention please" 

"What's going on?" I asked Sammy 

"Party..." Sammy whispered. 

"Party... Party... Party ... Party" the whole school started chanting. 

"On the occasion of my buddies winning the first game of the season..." 

"Party... Party... Party... Party" 

" And since we had a clean game with our guest team, and everyone's favorite one and only Quinsy high" 

Deafening cheers erupted from the Quincy high students. And even they started chanting "Party, party, party, party" 

" I invite everyone... I mean everyone from Lincoln High as well as Quincy high, to..." 

" Party, party, party, party" 

" To party at my house" 

Cheers, roars, drumming, noise, loud loud noise erupted from all around, and then everyone started leaving the field and going to Boun's house. 

" Come on Prem..." Sammy called. 

" Where?" 

" Let's go party" 

" I... I don't know about that, I have never been to a party" 

" Come on" Sammy whined, right then Dylan showed up behind Sammy and back hugged her. Sammy turned behind, gave him a loving smile, and blushed, Dylan smiled too. 

" You should come, Prem," Dylan said " did you not hear Boun, everyone is invited" 

" I... I " 

" Come on dude, it won't be nice if my girlfriend's best friend doesn't show up" 

" Girlfriend?" My eyebrows perked up.

" Eeekkk, Sammy squealed, we are together now, "she held my hand and jumped" 

"Oh my god, when did this happen?" 

"Just now, after the game" 

" Congratulations" I was so happy for her, she was telling me how she should not care about the people who are giving her a hard time and just go for it, she wanted to do exactly what everyone didn't want her to do, that is being with Dylan. 

I looked around, and the mean girls did not look pleased with Dylan and Sammy hugging each other. I smirked and scared them off with my gaze. It was my time to protect her now, but I don't think I can do much because Dylan will take care of her. 

"Are you coming or not?" Sammy asked 

"Is that even a question, he is coming he has no choice" Dylan said, saying that made Sammy smile more. 

"Let's go party... Boyfriend" she said and pecked Dylan, which made him turn completely red. She just dragged me.

 After reaching Boun's house, I was flabbergasted. I stayed in the same neighborhood, but I never knew such a big mansion existed. The party was so fun, with music, pizzas, and games. Sammy told me that there was alcohol last time, and then Dylan told me that since it was a last-minute decision, they couldn't arrange for alcohol. I couldn't help but look at Boun, he was dressed as fancy as he always would, but he kept looking at me. I thought I was used to it by now, but today was different. He looked at me like he knew something like he wanted to talk to me, but was hesitant. I just tried to ignore him and enjoyed the vibe.
