⚠️Picture above does not belong to me!

I curled my legs up onto the plush brown couch while keeping my eyes glued on the page. I had just gotten invested in reading mystery novels and couldn't help but continue until I finished.

Suddenly, the front door swung open and slammed shut, and I flinched a bit at the loud noise. I folded the top right corner of the page and shut the book, placing it down on the brown ottoman next to me. I slipped my glasses off my nose and put it right on top of the book.

Just as I was getting ready to get up, loud footsteps stomped into the room, and I saw Iwaizumi making his way to the TV stand. He tugged at the watch on his wrist and struggled to undo the band as his already furrowed eyebrows creased even more.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing," the male mumbled, finally pulling the watch off.

Iwaizumi undid the top couple buttons his white dress shirt and stormed across the room. He made his way past the small coffee table in the middle, and I grabbed his wrist. His angry gait came to a halt as my eyes met his small olive green ones.

"Hajime...tell me what's wrong."

The shorter male bit his lip and shifted his gaze, and I only tightened my grip on his wrist.

"If this is gonna work, we need to be honest with each other," I added on.

His eyes shot back towards me. He slowly made his way right in front of me. I moved my hand down to his hand and gave it a light squeeze, urging him to talk.

A sheen layer of water filled his eyes, making them look glossy in the dim light. He sank down to his knees, and my eyes widened at the sight.

Hajime never acts like this.

"I-I got fired," the male uttered.

Tears streaked down Iwaizumi's cheeks and landed on the carpet below us.

"Oh Hajime..."

I placed my hand on the back of his head and lightly pulled it forward so the right side of his head was placed on my thigh.

"I-I'm sorry Tooru," he said and another sob broke out of his throat.

"Shhhhhh...It's okay."

I ran my fingers through his dark black hair and placed a soft kiss on his temple.

Wet drops landed on my gray sweatpants, but I couldn't care less.

"I s-shouldn't have s-said anything back. I-I should've j-just kept my m-mouth shut."

Iwaizumi's threatening tone had vanquished and was replaced with guilt and pain. A heavy feeling settled in my chest at the sight, and a dire need to comfort the male fell upon me.

"Hajime?" I whispered.

The male lifted his head off my thigh, and I was met with his blotchy face streaked with tears and snot. He sniffed, and I gently cupped my hands around his cheeks.

"It's okay," I gently said.

Iwaizumi's eyes shot down, and I felt the sense of responsibility radiating off of him. I plastered a bright smile on my face and cleared my throat. Those beautiful green eyes met mine again, and my lips parted into a small smile.

"How about a bath?" I said in a cheery voice.

The male lifted his hand up and wiped his cheeks with the back of his hands. Then, he slowly nodded his head.

I rapped my knuckles on the white door three times before turning the golden knob. I stepped onto the tiled floor and placed the neatly folded towel on the counter.

"Hajime your clothes are on-"

I stopped in my tracks as my eyes drifted towards the ravenette. His pale back met my eyes, and his arms were wrapped around his knees, which were bunched up towards his chest. I sighed as the familiar heavy feeling returned and made my way towards the male.

I picked up the silver handheld shower head and wrapped my fingers around the cold metal. I pushed up the little switch on the handle and ran my fingers under the warm water. I slowly directed the shower head onto Iwaizumi's back and watched his tense shoulders relax as the water trickled down his pale skin.

"Tooru?" Iwaizumi's fragile-like voice whispered.

"Hmm?" I hummed as I picked up the lime green loofah. I squirted a small amount of body wash and gently applied it over Iwaizumi's back as the sweet vanilla scent engulfed the atmosphere.

"W-What are we gonna do?"

My hand came to a half for a brief second, but I quickly returned to cleaning the male's body. To be honest, I didn't know what we were going to do. Iwaizumi and I weren't poor, but lately...let's just say we were in a financial crisis. Neither of us had high paying jobs, and since our parents were extremely unsupportive of our relationship, we couldn't ask them to lend us a hand. I sighed as I picked up the handled shower head and started rinsing off the soap.

"I don't know...," I honestly said. Iwaizumi's head hung low, and I heard small sniffles.

"But...," I said, grabbing the towel and gently turning the male to face me. "...we'll figure it out. We always do."

I looked into the ravenette's puffy eyes, and despite the circumstances, a soft smile spread across my face. I gently kissed his forehead.

I have to be strong.

I dabbed the towel along the male's body and rushed out to the bedroom to grab the sweats and t-shirt on the bed. After Iwaizumi got dressed, we made our way downstairs, and I plopped back on the couch.

I let out a yawn and rubbed my eyes with the back of my hands, signaling that exhaustion had started to settle in. A weight landed on my chest, and I yanked my hands off of my eyes and peered down. The hard rubbing caused me to see stars for a few seconds, but once my vision returned to normal, I was able to make out Iwaizumi's damp black hair. The right side of his head rested on my chest, and his left hand was placed on my right pec.

I blinked at the rare sight, and I felt my cheeks burn up a little. I slowly wrapped my arms around the small of Iwaizumi's back.

"Thank you...," Iwaizumi muffled voice sounded, and my eyes widened again in surprise.

A large grin settled on my face. "What was that?" I teased.

A grunt sounded from the male. "I'm not saying it again Shittykawa."

I laughed and just ran my hands through the male's slightly wet hair. "I love you Hajime."

"I love you too...," the male mumbled.

We were going to get through this somehow. We had each other, and that's all that mattered.
