Midnight leads me into the classroom and sits me down in a chair in front of the desk.

"Y/n. What did you do wrong?" Midnight asks once she sits in Aizawa's chair.

I think for a second, kind of shuffling in my seat. This seems a bit uncomfortable. "I uh... made a sarcastic comment?"

She sighs pretty deeply. "You made a comment, you pulled attention away from class, then after I sent you out into the hall you were gone!"

I look down at my feet, like I learned to do when I get yelled at. "Look me in my eyes when I'm talking to you," I hear her say.

I chuckle nervously and look into her eyes. They seem pissed off. I can't tell though. It seems like it would take about three steps to run if needed, I start thinking. One if I enhance my jumping ability. I'm assuming Midnight cannot use her quirk against students without good reason like betrayal. She does have those whips though which could prove to be a probl-

"-/n. Y/n!" She yells, which snaps me out of my rabbit hole with a flinch.

"Ah! Sorry, sorry, sorry," I say quickly, cringing at the sound of my voice. Why the hell is it the voice it is? It's not fair, it's not fair, it's not fair. "I can't focus that great all the time cuz of my quirk, and I've been focusing on controlling my breathing and making plans for- uhm- things and I'm still reeling cuz I just met two out of the big three in the halls and I'm kinda a little bit really really nervous because I almost never get in trouble and my brain won't shut up and I sound/look like shit today and-"

I'm shut up when Midnight grabs my shoulders. I notice quickly that I was pulling at my hair a little and my eyes were tearing up. I look up at her, my face red with the lack of oxygen. Her eyes change from mad to sympathetic and she pulls me up and into a hug. It was... weird. I didn't expect her to give good hugs with all the leather and spikes her costume has. However, my brain doesn't compute for a while and my arms just lay there by my sides.

"I... don't need pity," I say to her.

She waves off the comment. "This is sympathy, you're still in trouble. It's just... I see a person I was friends with when we were younger in you. UA can be kind of intimidating, but that doesn't mean that you'll bum fail. You've just gotta... try your best."

I nod and finally will my arms to give her the hug back, then I push out of it. "So, teach," I say, clicking my feet together. "What's the consequence?"

She shrugs and then gasps, "I've got a doozy... go eat lunch and sit with people. Make new friends and therefore, new connections."

I frown at the last part. Making friends used to be easy as pie for me, but now it's quite difficult. I just... don't know enough about them to trust them. What if like... they're traitors or something?

Like they betray people's trust all the time. Or they're just secretly shit people.

"Oh come on, it won't be that difficult!"

I glare at her, "If it wasn't difficult, it wouldn't be a consequence."

She sighs, "Geez, [ambiverts/introverts] are one in the same. Now go, have fun at lunch."

I bow to Midnight and scurry out of the room as fast as possible. I try to navigate the place and just barely find the cafeteria.

I go into the lunch line which is empty due to how late I am. My stomach rumbles loudly. "Oh yeah, I haven't eat since last breakfast..." I mutter to myself.

"YOU HAVENT HAD LUNCH? OR DINNER?? OR BREAKFAST???" The cook behind the counter exclaims. They're about 160cm (5'3) without a chefs hat that looks like a cloud which is skewed on their head, so it was [kind of intimidating because they're taller than me/honestly funny because they're so much shorter than me]. They seem to have pulled it on quickly once they saw me come in.

"Ah, sorry, yeah no I haven't..." They gasp loudly again and quickly get a plate and load it with a bunch of food.

"Don't skip meals!!! If you don't find time, tell one of your teachers that good ol' Lunch Rush wanted to teach you something," When saying their hero name, they pat their chest with pride. "Just make something up, you're a smart kid. I'll feed ya anytime." They reach over and set the tray packed with food onto the counter. They wave their hands in a "shoo!" manner. "Now off with you!"

I bow and say, "Thank you so much!" before barreling out of the kitchen and into the cafeteria. On my plate I had a bowl of soba, which was a little cold like someone put ice cubes in it. I also have some katsudon on my plate and a bit of beef stew in another bowl, a LOT of mochi and then... [f/food]. My favorite. Is this why we had to put favorite foods down at the entrance exam...?

Anyways, there's enough food to feed a small army on my plate. I think Lunch Rush forgot people can throw up during hero training.

I feel someone tap me on the shoulder and I turn around slowly, not expecting it. I see a boy who's about 176 cm (5'9). He's got his heterochromic eyes and hair, one half of his hair being red and the other white. His right eyes is a dull gray and the other is a bright turquoise eye surrounded by what seems to be a freezer-burn scar.

I look him up and down quickly to try and decipher what it is he wants and see he is pointing to the soba. "Do you... want my soba?" He nods and I shrug and hand the bowl to him. "It's ice cold but sure, here."

He barely smiles while looking at the soba and then nods. In a monotone voice, the guy responds with: "I'm Todoroki Shoto."

"I'm L/n Y/n, but just call me y/n," I reply back with an attempted smile. I'm trying to make friends Miss Midnight, I swear-

He starts to pull on my sleeve as he guides me over to an empty table and he sits down. Assuming that he might want me to sit with him, I sit across from him. He looks me in the eyes, seemingly piercing my soul, and nods once, turning his attention towards his food.

We eat in silence for the rest of lunch, but it's not uncomfortable. I end up getting through the mochi and [f/food], but I can't even think about touching the beef stew or Katsudon, no matter how good it smells.

After I lean back, Todoroki automatically rises from his place across the table and picks up my plate and looks at me. He seems to be non-verbally asking if he could throw away my things.

I nod with a smile and thank him. I don't feel very mobile but looking at the clock, we've got about 5 more minutes of lunch.

Out of nowhere, my lunch buddy reaches his hand out to me from across the table. I look at it for a second and shake it, then observe his emotionless face. I shake his hand and say, "You're pretty cool, Todoroki."

"You only say that because of my father, but I'm used to it." He drops my hand and looks to his empty glass.

"Why would I know who your dad is...?"

"Todoroki Enji."

"Im sorry, the name really doesn't ring a bell."

"Endeavor."

"Ohhhh that son of a-" I realize what company I'm with and reroute my words quickly, "The number two pro hero?"

With what seems to be faint traces of a smile, he nods. "Yes. Him."

I skip over the hostility that this Canadian Flag Personification put in that one syllable word. "I dunno, I guess I don't really like him that much. So I don't pay attention to him."

Todoroki nods. "We will get along."

With that statement, a bell rings signifying the end of lunch. We pick up our things and I thank Todoroki for letting me sit with him today. Then, I zoom to my next and final class today, which is hero training.
