Chapter four: "William I swear to Jane Eyre"

Walking to school with a sprained ankle and hurt wrist proved to be Cordelia Belle Kingsley's least favorite thing to do. Having to carry her books was a pain and maneuvering around tree roots
was a hassle.

Belle had finally become somewhat contempt on her walk but that was quickly put to an end as the voice of William Andrews calling out Anne's name.

"Anne of Green Gables," She heard him say, "You and me, we're gonna talk."

Rolling her eyes she quietly searching for where his voice was coming from.

"You said some really nasty stuff about my sister." She heard a bit louder, letting her know she was close.

"Whose your sister?" Anne said timidly.

"Prissy Andrews dummy."

"I'm sure I didn't mean to be nasty." She says her voice sounding on the verge of tears.

"Is that why she was crying all night?" He asked with annoyance in his tone.

Finally somewhat reaching the pair, she watches as he stalks towards her.

"My parents say that's slander," He glares at her, "You wanna get slandered?"

"Sorry, I truly meant no harm, I—" she stumbles back as Belle walks up quietly behind him.

"I'm gonna teach you a lesson, Fido. You're a bad dog. Bad. Little. Dog." He says practically shaking with anger.

"William Andrews I swear to Jane Eyre," he jumps at the surprising sound of her voice, "What on earth are you doing."

"Teaching little carrots here a lesson," He replies looking back at her, "I'm sure you heard what she said about Prissy."

"Yes, yes but that an error on her part which she most definitely will formally apologize with the help of myself." She says trying to divert the attention away from Anne who looked on the brink of a breakdown.

"Bu—"

"Come on now, you were all about spending time with me yesterday. Why don't you walk me to school hmm." She says as she discreetly nods to Anne to start walking away.

Thankfully Anne got the message and scurried off. Walking alongside Belle, Billy began to talk.

"She deserves anything bad that's coming to her."
