ANNABELLE
"Are the handcuffs really necessary"? I stare wide eyed as Laurie put the metal bracelets onto my wrists.
"Unfortunately they are, I think you could understand under these circumstances". It didnt seem fair but I let her put them on and escorted me out of the room I resided for nearly 2 days. I needed a shower.
"I appreciate everything, you worked endlessly and tirelessly to get me help. And that's something I can never repay". She grabbed me in a hug.
"Getting better is repayment enough". I nodded my head and struggled back into the back into the big BMW. the driver turned and smiled at me before taking off.
I watched as the cars drove past me, the people walking on the street not knowing of the person in the back of this truck. She was a girl, crazy, and deranged by years of abuse. Her only two friends were merely in her mind, and they were going to be gone. Forever. I was if we had just left the police station when we were already pulling into the parking lot of a huge building. Trenton Psychiatric Hospital the sign read, I sat patiently as we pulled through the back gate.
"There is Dr.Mills dear, he'll take you from here" I smiled at the woman and let Dr.Mills help out of the vehicle.
"Sorry Annabelle but those will be taken off inside. Let's get you settled in".
I entered the building, this will be my new home for awhile. Better make the best of it.
