Chapter 7

LAURIE

The words that were filling my ears made my whole body want to shake, but I had to control my fear and anger. This was the FIRST murder; how many more were there?

"Are you listening Ms.Daniels"? My eyes snapped towards Annabelle, her face disoriented and her posture taller. Like she was more confident in what she had to say, she was proud in the story she was telling.

"Yes I am dear, please continue".

"Alrighty", she stretched her arms out and cracked her knuckles before she began again. "I stood watching as Marie began choking him with her foot, he was loosing breath and I could see his eyes roll in the back of his head. I begged Marie to stop but she told me to leave, So I just walked away. After a little while I was called back into the kitchen, Howard laid unconscious on the floor and Sarah and Marie both were trying to pull his limp body into the garage".

"This the same garage you were seen running from"? It was more of a statement then a question.

"Yes Ms.Daniels". My head snapped up towards Annabelle's face, it was still hers but her Voice just wasn't the same.  "Let the story be finished, you're wasting time with your questions". I nodded my head and held my hand up for her to continue. "Where was I, Oh Yes. We pulled his body into the garage locking the doors So there wouldn't be any surprise visits.  Marie pulled him into a chair taping his mouth and tying him up". I nodded my head scribbling it all down, but I wasn't going to interrupt her again. "After he was secured Marie waited patiently until he woke up, and the when he did; Oh the fear in his eyes made us all laugh. Sarah got extremely mad seeing him So scared though and started yelling at him". She closed her eyes as if trying to remember what was said.

"How are you scared now"?!?! Annabelle's Voice rose and made me jump from my seat, her eyes stared at me not even caring I was standing now. "You raped Anna, and now you're scared. You weren't when you hurt her. Fuck you. I hope you're scared". She closed her eyes again and I slowly sat back down, when she opened them her eyes were different again, her voice different. And she just continued where she left off.

"So there we stood eye to eye, face to face with a man that took advantage of a 12 year old girl. We all knew what we wanted to do, So I took my seat and let it happened. Marie stepped up, throwing punches to his face.  Feet kicked him, and Sarah joined in to. Punching, kicking, scratching, and spitting. After about an hour Marie turns towards me and tells me it's time for me to leave, but I refused. She pulled his member from his pants and using rusty hedge clippers he was dismembered. Afterwards she let him yell in pain before slitting his throat and we all watched as he bled out".

My Voice was caught in my throat, this wasn't the same scared girl that came into the precinct that I remember. I moved my eyes from notepad and was met with a smirk that made my skin crawl. "I'm going to be a few minutes Annabelle".

"Oh Ms.Daniels"?

"Yes"?

"Nothing".

I took off out the door and into the chief's office, I couldn't handle it So I let it out. "She's freaking crazy sir, no doubt". I throw my notebook onto the table and let him read the information I had gotten So far.

"She told you all this, the details".

"Yes, and this isn't the body we found. There are plenty others she say".

"Get back in there, we could possibly dealing with a serial killer".

"Sir it's been nearly 24 hours since I started, we both need a break".

"No breaks Daniels, get in there".

"Sir, there's something off about all of this. Especially her. I would like to request to video tape the interview".

"GO GO GO, just go Daniels".
