It's the most unthinkable thing anyone could ever do, but it happened, and it wasn't planned.

Joshua Dun had taken the life of a man, all dressed in red with a hood over his face. He shot him straight in the eye and left his body to rot.

Unfortunately, he didn't get that far. The Icelandic police had found him, and he was taken into custody.

The next day was the trial. The prosecutor was seeking a life imprisonment for his crime, but Joshua was never prone to lying.

He was truthful during his testimony and confessed to the killing of the man.

During the eight hours of waiting, Joshua had hoped for some form of freedom, but it seemed like it wasn't going to be enough for the evil deed he's committed.

In the end, the jury came back and found him guilty to second degree murder, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

From that day on, Joshua's life had officially ended, and he was never going to see society ever again.

But on a very perilous day, everything was going to change.

10 years after his conviction, a now 29 year old Joshua sits in his cell at the Icelandic prison of Reykjavik.

Prison life wasn't easy for him. He was beaten, stripped of his identity, and humiliated in front of others.

No one was there for him, and he never had anyone who would defend him. He was always alone.

Of course, in his lonely cell with one window, two bunks, and a toilet, his prison mate, Eloise Vídalín, was the only friend he had.

In Iceland, friends were known as félagi, or known as a secret partner. Joshua always called him that so nobody would know he had friend.

Eloise was serving an 18 year sentence for robbery, and has secretly stolen stuff from the prison commissary to help keep himself in check.

Joshua always talked with him for advise, or to just talk about his day, but sometimes the answers Eloise would give him wouldn't be so delightful.

He would talk about how the world is evil, and that nobody should live, unless they'd want to suffer, but almost every day, Eloise would tell him to never stop fighting for his desires.

As an Icelandic, he would say, "berjast fynir löngunum pínum."

While sitting in his cell, Joshua turned and saw Eloise laying in his bunk and play with his shank ball like he'd always do. When he noticed he was watching him, he stopped and looked at him.

"It's always that same look." He said to him.

"What is?" Joshua asked.

"The one you make when I play with my ball."

"Well, it's very intriguing to me, because not all the other inmates have one like yours."

Eloise scoffed.

"They'd regret having one if they did."

Joshua turned back to the window and stared outside.

"Why not come talk to me?" Eloise asked.

"I'm not in the mood." Joshua replied. "I have too much on my mind."

"Reykjavik Fangelisi have no men who have thoughts in their mind."

"El, we've been in this conversation before. I'm different than most average Icelandic."

"I know, and it's not eolilegur."
