Nightmares

After the massive killing spree you had you took a shower to wash all the blood off. It stained your clothes too. What a pity. This calls for a fashion change. The outfit you had also didn't feel like yourself so you'd take any excuse for a change.

Still in a towel you knocked on Mona's bedroom door. "Come in." You opened the door and saw Mona sitting at a small desk at the side of her room. Mona's room had the same style as yours but it was a bit larger so a desk could fit in.

She was muttering something, thinking out loud. You didn't know much about astrology, only a bit about zodiac signs but that's it. She'd teach you one day she told you, but to be honest you didn't really look forward to that. It seemed hard.

Papers were scattered on the table and there was a book in her hand. "Mona do you have some clothes I could lend from you till I have a chance to clean mine?" She looked up. "Hmm well I could have some clothes made for you but I don't have the Mora." She pouted.

"That's alright I'll pay for it. Will it be done tomorrow?" You asked. "Yeah! I'll take care of it now." She put on her hat and walked out. "And you get some sleep!" She yelled from downstairs. You smiled and went to your room again. First you hung the clothes in the closet so it wouldn't smell like iron in your room. Then you went to sleep.

Your eyes were still closed but you could hear faint voices. You tried to focus on the sounds. It sounded like people laughing? You opened your eyes but closed them again quickly when the sunlight blinded you. When you opened them again to your surprise you were outside.

And you already stood. "Huh?" You were in Windrise. A Hillichurl camp was there. You blinked. Now the whole camp was wrecked. Blood everywhere and the bodies didn't disappear. You gasped out of shock. You couldn't move a muscle.

When you looked down you saw your swords were equipped. When you blinked again they were drenched in blood. You blinked again and it was gone. "What the-" you were cut off by another scenery change. This time a treasure hoarder camp.

They were sitting next to each other. Laughing and telling stories. It was a wholesome scene. You blinked. The whole camp was wrecked. Two of the three were laying there, dead. Arms severed and blood everywhere. One of them was screaming in pain. The iron smell was suffocating you.

Then you heard the disgusting noice of a head slicing off and dropping on the ground. The one who did it stood there. She looked familiar. Really familiar. She stood with her back to you. You decided to take a closer look.

The girl didn't move. She stared at her victims. Suddenly laughing erupted. "How pathetic." It was your own voice. But you didn't say anything right? The girl turned around. It was you.

Drenched in blood. The white of the dress was stained red. She stood there laughing at you. Her blades were coloured red. "N-no it can't be!" You fell to your knees and started crying. Tears streaming down your cheeks. "This isn't me. No please stop." Your voice was low, breaking a lot. You kept saying no. Then you screamed it. "This is you." The other you said, and disappeared into thin air. You couldn't stop crying and yelling no.

"NO!" you sat up straight in your bed. Beads of sweat on your forehead and your heart beating hard inside your chest. Your breathing was heavy and your eyes were red from the tears that fell. "So it was just a dream." Your own screaming woke you up.

When you tried to sleep again you just couldn't. The memories of that dream kept resurfacing. Every toss and turn that night made you feel worse. You felt like a horrible person when you recalled on how you ascended. Did everyone have to go through this?

The morning lights finally reached your room and you abruptly stood up. You waited for the moment. As if on cue the doorbell rang. Mona was still fast asleep so you opened the door softly not to wake her up. You quickly put on a robe before opening the door.
