"So how long exactly have you been here? Since all this happened?" Maggie asked as she walked down the hallway with daryl. He wasn't the usual human being you would see, but his face was beautiful.
"We've been here about 3 years or so. We take orders from the governor."
"Who's the governor?" Maggie asked. They had stopped at a door that led outside. She could see families walking, some with their dogs. It was like the apocalypse wasn't real.
Her daydreaming stopped as soon as a man walked in front of her. He was baldish and had a knife hand. "This is my brother, Merle. Merle this is Maggie." Daryl introduced.
Merle laughed. His laugh was low and raspy. He took Maggie's hand and kissed it, she quickly pulled away. "That's enough Merle. We're going to see Philip." Daryl grabbed Maggie's other hand and started dragging her the opposite way.
"Be carful little brother," Merle began, "Phil hasn't seen suck a pretty girl in so long." Maggie looked back and glared. Then they appeared back in front of another door.
Daryl knocked. The doorknob twisted and the door opened, a tall figure on the other side. "What do we have here?" The man said.
"You must be the governor." Maggie said reaching out her hand.
"Please, call me Phil." He took her hand and kissed it. Maggie felt awkward, she meant to shake his hand and Alls she's gotten were kisses. "Please come in, I've been wanting to speak with you." Maggie and Daryl both entered and sat it chairs at one side of the table, Philip sitting on the other side. "You can leave now, Daryl. I'd like to talk to Maggie alone."
Daryl looked at Maggie, a bit of a worried look on his face, got up, and left. She turned back to the governor who started to speak. "So, Maggie, where exactly were you before you were found with that man?"
Maggie bit her lip. Alls she could see was her leaving Glenn's motionless body alone. She looked up, "well, I lived with my family on a farm and-" she felt tears begin to fall down her face. "Well let's just say that man that I was with was with, in the car, I was in love with him..." A tear ran down her face.
The governor grabbed her hand. "I'm sorry for your loss. Here you may be able to live a great life, trust me." He stood up and walked to the door, "would you like to take a tour around your new city?" He reached out his hand, and of course without thinking, Maggie took it.
That night after meeting mostly everyone in the little city, Maggie went back up to her room to find Daryl sitting on her bed. Once he noticed her, he stood up and closed the door behind Maggie.
"What did he say to you?" His tone was stern. Maggie leaned up against the door.
"Nothing! He just asked me where I was before they found me." Maggie went under Daryl's arm straight for the bed. "And why do you care?"
"I don't trust Phil and I don't think you should either. He's done bad things."
"He seems nice. Now if you would leave so I can sleep that would be great." Maggie turned off the light.
Daryl quickly said "just don't do anything stupid." And left. After that the room was left dark and silent, Maggie all alone.
