Maggie didn't mind the cold breeze seeking through her shirt, alls she wanted to pay attention to was the beautiful sunset upon the horizon. She admired the different shades of orange, red, and yellow painted across the sky. It was a perfect night to sleep under the stars.
"Maggie! Dinner's ready!" Her mother yelled.
She knew the perfect moment was over, and she went inside.

When she reached the dinning room, on the table lay food scattered everywhere from turkey and potatoes, to bread and cheese. "What's with all the food? We don't need this much for four people." Maggie complained.
"Tomorrow will be a long work day out on the farm for us, so we need to get filled up." Her mother explained.
"I thought that's what breakfast was for?" Maggie crossed her arms.
"Just sit down and enjoy the meal."
With a sigh Maggie sat down in the chair next to her sister Beth. Her sister smiled at her, but when she didn't smile back, Beth looked back down at her plate.
Maggie didn't eat much. In fact, she hadn't eaten much the past week. Once dinner was done her mother made her go up in her room. Her mother didn't like her going outside, but once everyone was asleep, she opened the window, and went on the roof.

The next morning Maggie woke up to screaming. She grabbed her gun and ran down the stairs. "Mom! What's wrong?!" She yelled.
"Maggie keep your sister safe! Don't come out here!" Another gun shot rang her ears.
Maggie glanced out the window to see her parents shooting at people. Others came out of the woods and started helping. How could they do this she thought. Soon her parents came back into the house with other guests. A man with his wife and child, a blonde woman with another women who held a sword, and last, a guy around her age.
The group, her father decided, could stay with them until they find a place to go.

It was around dinner time when he finally noticed her. She was excused from the table and retreated outside on the porch to sit and swing. She noticed a curious man follow her out and sit right next to her; that guy. He turned as if he was going to speak to her, but he didn't.
Finally he said "Hey, I'm Glenn."
Maggie looked at him, his eyes black to the point where she could see her reflection in them. "I'm Maggie. It's nice to meet you Glenn," she paused. "Thanks for helping my family out with killing those monsters."
He replied with a smile "don't mention it."

The day ended with the sunset fading into darkness. Maggie walked up to her room to go to bed. She slipped under her covers and lay there thinking and thinking to the point where she couldn't fall asleep. She got back up and walked quietly downstairs to where Glenn was sleeping.
She tiptoed toward him, "Glenn, are you asleep?" She whispered.
He turned to look at her from the ground. "No, I can't sleep."
"Me neither. I hate sleeping alone. Especially from what happened earlier today..."
"Do you want me to come upstairs and sleep with you?" He said.
"Would you? It would make me feel safer."
He smiled sheepishly, got up, and walked up to Maggie's room with her. Together they snuggled under the covers and lay facing each other, Glenn's arm wrapped around Maggie. Together they both dozed off in just a few minutes.

The next morning Maggie woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon, her favorite. She was surprised to see Glenn still sleeping with his arms wrapped around her. She couldn't stand to not watch as he peacefully slept, his beautiful face so still and precious. She wiggled herself out of his arms making sure not to wake him up, put her robe on, and snuck downstairs.
Once she reached the kitchen there was already a plate ready for her. She sat down and started to eat her delicious meal. Suddenly a gunshot was fired which startled Maggie and had Glenn sprinting down the stairs.
"What was that?!" He yelled.
Both of them ran to the door and yanked it open, another gunshot fired which frightened the both of them.
