Later at night. Adriel is already sleeping. Davin waited for this time. He wanted to see if Adriel has a mark like him.

He was about to pull the latter's shirt when Adi changed his position. He is wearing an oversized shirt, making his collarbone slightly on display.

Davin saw a skin tone plaster. He thought it is there to cover the mark. He slowly tried to remove it.

His eyes are shifting to it and the sleeping one. The third time he shifted his gaze on Adi's face, two doe eyes startled him making him fall out of the bed.

"That hurts," Davin said rubbing his sore butt.

Adi is just frowning at him. Davin sighed and sits on the bed.

"What's under that patch?" he asked pointing at the said patch.

"It's none of your business," Adi said fixing his clothes.

"What the!?"

Adriel exclaimed when Davin pinned him down suddenly.

"Get off me." he simpered.

"Tell me the truth," Davin said.

"I don't know what you are-hnngg"

Davin pressed his knee on Adi's crotch.

"I know you felt the pull. You can only feel that with your fated one." Davin points out the obvious.

"So? Is this why you are doing this?" Adi said trying to break away.

"No. If you are my fated pair, this means, you are not the one you claimed to be."

Adi is staring straight at him trying to keep his cool.

"It means, *leans to his ear* you are the other chosen one. Adriel Archer."

Adi is not saying anything. He's right about his hunch. His eyes move down when he felt Davin's finger runs towards the patch.

Davin looked at him to see if he will stop him. But getting no response, he continues.

"Fuck"

He cursed when he saw what's hidden underneath it. It was not the mark he's expecting but burnt skin.

"Satisfied?" Adi asked sarcastically pushing Davin away from his body.

Davin fell on the other side of their bed.

"What happened to it?"

"You didn't hear about this? About the Queen of the Light, punishing those kids for hurting the favored son of the servant?"

He asked. Davin thinks for a while before he nodded.

"They did this because of envy and jealousy," Davin stated.

"Yes. They said the queen shouldn't care for someone like me. Those kids' parents asked for forgiveness. They asked to get the punishment instead of their children.

They did try to stop their kids from bullying me but, they still do it. Their parents knew how heavy that crime is-

"Because they hurt not the favored one but their prince." Davin cuts him.

Adi just smiles sadly, not denying it anymore.

"Were they-

"No. I asked them not to punish them. The kids didn't know. The parents promised to discipline their children. Royalty or not, they shouldn't hurt someone." Adriel said.
