"What the hell happened?!" the leader of the Arnites yelled.

"Master, based on what we observed, the students seem to not know what happened. And our people disappeared," the henchman said with his eyes cast down.

"That's impossible. How can we tell the lord about this?" the leader of Arnites uttered.

"If I may, what if we just tell the lord that we haven't attacked yet?" the henchman suggested.

The leader thought for a moment. "We can do that and set another attack soon,"

The henchman nodded, "Also, master, I was thinking about what possibly happened,"

"And?"

"What if it was the guardians doing?" he voiced out.

"Nonsense! The Lord said they are just a myth," he said.

"But the sire also belongs to another realm. What if he lied to us just to use us?" the henchman made his point.

Their sire hummed, "So, what happened to the attack?"

"Pardon, sire, but we moved the attack to the next full moon," the leader answered.

"Make sure you get more test subjects," their sire said.

"Yes, sire,"

Their sire left making them breathe in relief. They glanced at each other.

"Forget about it for now. We need to prepare well this time," he told his henchman.

Adriel asked checking his mate if he got hurt.

"Are you hurt somewhere?" he asked cupping Davin's face.

Davin holds his hand on his face, shaking his head.

"No? Then why are you crying?" Adi asked again worriedly.

Davin sniffed and smiled sadly.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being a coward," he said cupping Adriel's cheek.

Adriel leans to his touch, "I understand, love. I really do,"

Davin shakes his head, " I couldn't imagine what could happen if Kieran and Kasper didn't come,"

Adriel holds his hand on his cheek, "Love, let's just forget about it. What's important now is that we are in this together now,"

"I thought I'll lose you because of my stubbornness," Davin said.

"Stop, blaming yourself, love. I'm okay. We are all okay and that's what matters," he said coaxing his mate.

"I promise, love, I will not be a coward anymore. I-
