I saw her hair was messed up her eyes were red from crying. I opened my arms to her and she walked into them and started crying into my chest I asked her “What’s wrong?”
She slowly shaking said “My family they are...”
I wiped her tears and asked “They are what?”
Emma took a deep breath “They are dead Jack.”
“What happened?” I said.
“I just woke up this morning and went into their rooms and they were all dead” she told me.
“Can I see?” I asked her.
Emma said “Yes but I’m not looking again I’ll be in my room if you need me.”
She showed me their rooms and I walked inside they had bites in their necks and had no blood in their system. I thought Wyatt did it, I would talk to him about it later and I headed back to her room. She sat on the bed and looked at the wall where she had some pictures of her mom, dad and brothers who were all dead, now she was the only one left.
I felt so bad for her “I’m sorry Emma”
She looked at me “Why did this have to happen to me?”
I sat on the bed while pulling her on my lap and said “I don’t know I’m so sorry”
She looked up at me “Am I going to die next?”
I ran my fingers through her dirty blonde curly hair “No, I won’t let that happen, I promise”
She sat up and then looked at me with her blue-gray eyes “How?”
