Emma started panicking “Let go of me Jack”
I said “Emma please”
Emma POV:
I got free of his grip and ran home. I walked inside locked my door shut and ran up to my room and shut the balcony window. I looked in the mirror and then I looked down at the necklace I was going to take it off when I heard “Emma”
I turned around and Jack was standing right behind me. I ran to open my bedroom door but he beat me to it and the door closed shut with his grip. I started crying and breathing heavy and I felt his hot breath by my ear as he whispered to me “I will never hurt you, you’re safe with me”
I turned and faced him “What about my family?”
He said “That wasn’t me; I wouldn’t do that to you”
“Then who did Jack?”
He said “I don’t know”
“Is Wyatt a vampire too?” I asked him.
“Yes and he doesn’t care who he kills so you need to be careful around him.”
Then I sighed “What happened at the house.”
He said “Wyatt got me mad because he was compelling you”
“What do you mean, he was compelling me?” I said.
“Emma do you remember if he ever held your face like this and changed his eyes like this”
I said “Yeah he was asking me about you and I said that wasn’t his business and he got mad and did everything you just did, it felt like he was peering his eyes into my soul and I don’t remember what happened afterwards. Then you walked in and a second later you were right in front of me, your eyes were black and your teeth were pointed like fangs you scared me so I tried to leave.
He said “Do you know why I gave you that necklace?”
“No?” I said.
“It contains an herb called vervaine which keeps you from being compelled and safe from me and other vampires, so you should never take it off.”
“There are others?” I asked a little scared.
“They left hundreds of years ago and then my brother is one and his girlfriend but she has been missing for many years.” He was still right in front of me holding my door shut.
