Just a warning for anyone reading this, this is the first chapter i've edited and i will say if you continue to around the 7th-10th chapter some things aren't going to add up to how i've written it here but they will eventually be fixed when i get to those chapters!!
"Summers almost gone Sally." Larry said as he grabbed a soda from the mini fridge in his room. "I'd rather not be reminded" Sal responded not being bothered to look at him as he was currently fixated on the painting Larry had done a few hours before. Sal had always admired Larry's skills; to be able to create something out of practically nothing, to be able to perfectly copy any scenery... it was amazing.
This painting was one of Larry's mom, and beside her was a younger version of Larry. Sal could recognize it as the picture Larry kept on his bedside table, along with the many other trinkets. Larry's room wasn't a mess.. but it was not clean either. Cluttered for the lack of a better word.
Larry sat in a beanbag in the far corner of the room, near a window which he had propped open. He had a cigarette loosely hanging from his mouth. he blew out smoke as he spoke, carefully making sure it went out the window.. "Listen, if you're worried about Travis, i can just beat his ass" . Sal smiled, not like you could really see it though, for obvious reasons. Larry flicked the ashes off, he turned to look at his friend.
"Who knows, maybe Churchboy finally got that stick out of his ass" Sal held back a laugh as he went to sit on the other beanbag next to Larry. "No way, not possible." Sal leaned back and stretched, grunting as he did.
"Don't accidentally kill yourself again like you did last year at that party. Larry put on some weird smirk "Promises are made to be broken Sal!"
-Time skip-
Sal was sat in larry's truck. The AC losing the battle against the august hot air. Larry's truck was an old run down car from around 2 decades ago. Sal was sure it would one day leave Larry on the side of the highway scratching his head wondering what possibly could've gone wrong... Larry was delusional and sure his car worked fine, he was sure the squeaking it made was normal. No Larry, that is in fact not normal.
The drivers side window was open, the wind blew Larry's hair practically everywhere, but of course Larry didn't seem to care. He had a cigarette in his mouth, an almost done cigarette. The music playing had a scratchy tone to it and whenever it would cut out, Larry would lightly smack it to keep it working.. Again, what could possibly go wrong.
They came to a stop as Larry pulled into the parking lot. He shut the music off and put his cigarette out on the dashboard. He looked over to sal, noticing he had fallen asleep on the car ride here.. he had wondered why it was so quiet. He reached over and shook sal aggressively. Sal groaned and sat up, he looked around, only to slouch his shoulders once he realized they were at school.
"Come on little bro, don't wanna be late on the first day" Larry teased. Sal groaned, too tired to form a rebuttal. He took his seatbelt off and opened the door, which creaked loudly as he did so. He slammed the door shut, seeing as it normally wouldn't close any other way.

Today everyone had a free day since it was only the first day. They could use this time to find their classes, talk, hang out, or just anything in genera. That's how the first week normally was. Sal always found it quite weird.. But he was sure it was so the school could actually find the budget to keep running in that week. He and larry stood at his locker, he listened to larry mindlessly chat about some new band he had found... Sal had heard this spiel many times before, it was always 'This is the best band!' or 'Sal this band makes me ascend!'. It wasn't like sal didn't care.. he actually had other things on his mind.. A certain blonde kid. It was currently 10 AM and Sal had yet to hear a single 'fag!' or some other uncreative insult to be used. not that he was comparing or anything. It was a nice change.
Sals locker suddenly got slammed shut, very aggressively. Almost hateful in a way.
It caused Larry to stop speaking for a second. And a small scream to come from sal as they both jumped. their heads turned towards the noise.
Ashley was standing right there, a smirk laid across her face. Sal and Larry sighed of relief, but this didn't save Ashley from the glare that Larry gave.
"You two are pussies!" She said laughing . Larry gasped and leaned back against the locker, feigning offense. "How dare you!" Sal laughed through this interaction.
(a/n, i will add more dialogue later.)

(read next part with caution, it has not been edited)Sal walked the halls quietly. Larry had gone out for a smoke so it left Sal all alone in the halls. Normally he hated being alone like this, but today he felt different, safer. probably because a certain blonde haired kid was no where to be seen. it was definitely a relief... but Sal was too nosey for his own good. So here he was, walking. He had one goal. Find Travis.
While walking, He finally saw him. His roots had been grown out. nothing like his previous hair which was very badly bleached blond. Now it was just badly bleached blonde and grown out. The bruise on his eye seemed to have moved down to his chin, Sal always assumed they were from getting into fights considering Travis has a... rather weird reputation. A reputation his father somehow had no idea about. Sal slowly came to a stop, expecting the boy to maybe throw an insult over at him, or punch him. He watched, waited... But the reaction he wanted never came. His jaw slightly dropped. Travis had only given him a mere glance in the direction, probably not even looking at Sal despite them being the only 2 in the hallway.
Sal smirked, he turned on his foot, going the same direction he had just seen Travis disappear to. He sped up so he could get to Travis. He had a plan... Sonce Travis had been an ass to him, he would do the exact same back. Besides, did Travis really think he could just walk by without a word?
Sal stopped, he ended up at the bathroom between a hallway and a stairwell.. there were 3 possible directions Travis could've gone... Sal turned to the bathroom and walked in. Practically kicking the door open. Just as he thought, There was Travis, sitting on the bathroom sink. He had a cigarette hanging from between two of his fingers.. he looked annoyed to see Sal standing right there. He took a very long drag and put his cigarette out on the mirror and hopped off. Sal had the exit blocked so he couldn't get passed. Though... he didn't say anything. Instead he inched closer to sal, toe to toe. He blew out the smoke in Sals face and leaned down. A glare in his eyes. Sal was about to say something. But the heat of travis' hand on his chest threw him off. Then came the harsh wood of the door behind him hitting his back. Travis leaned closer , he gave sal another harsh glare.
Before Sal could even say anything, he was shoved to the side. and travis was gone. It left him confused. Confused and annoyed. he stood there for a few seconds. Sure, Travis had been rude to him many times before... rude is a less harsh way to put it. But this time was different... it felt different.
Definitely telling Larry about this... well maybe not all of it.
