Chapter 604

30 Minutes Later when Matt, Gabby and the Triplets are ready to leave:
Matt's POV: As I lean into the van to check that the triplets are all buckled in correctly, I smile when I see that Gabby is doing the same. "I think we did a good job." Gabby smiled and nodded as she walked around to car. "I already brought the stroller. I am sorry but, I might want to come downstairs a couple times." I nodded when she said that. Wrapping my arms around her, I went to kiss her softly and smiled. "We'll see okay? You should rest because you were up late last night. You were worried and need your rest. We are going to stay in our apartment remember?" 

Gabby nodded when I said that. "I am just glad that the commissioner already agreed to that." I agreed and smiled when I heard Louie come out. "Can I have one last hug goodbye daddy?" I then smiled as I turned to look at him. Setting my bag down, I went to bend down and put my arms around. He then ran over to me and smiled as I went to kiss his cheek. "You be a good boy for uncle Toni, Grandma and make sure that you help with your siblings okay buddy?" He agreed and nodded when I said that. Gabby then went to bend down and hugged him too. "Love you." 

Louie smiled when Gabby said that. "Love you too mommy." That's when I saw Antonio come out. "Sorry about him. Somebody decided not to listen to me when I said that they have to stay inside." I nodded when he said that and smiled. "Antonio, it's fine. We love holding him in our arms whenever we have a chance." Antonio agreed with me and nodded when I said that. "Okay, well we will see you later. I am positive that he is going to ask to come and visit you guys at the firehouse at least once. Do you guys mind?" Gabby then shook her head. "Twins overnight?"

I shook my head. "What if I have to go to a fire overnight? I would rather you not have to deal with 5 kids overnight." Gabby nodded when I said that. "By the way, I am going to keep Sylvie safe...I promise okay Antonio." Antonio nodded when I said that. "Sorry that this got so ugly." I sighed and looked at him. "Just don't bring it up okay? Just let me deal with it in my own way. Remember, I am in the middle of it. Keep it out of my houses and that's fine with me!" 

Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "Listen, I am going to get in the van. We need to leave." I understood and smiled before watching her get in. I then looked at Antonio and went to shake his hand. "Talk to you later before he goes to bed and see you tomorrow." I then went to wave to Louie. "Have fun with uncle Tonio Louie!" He then nodded and waved to me. Going to walk around the van, I smiled as I went to get in the van. Looking at Gabby, I smiled at her. "You ready for this? By the way, I am glad that you are coming to work with me." 

Gabby smiled when I said that and agreed with me. "So am I. There is nowhere I would rather be." Going to turn on the van, I smiled as I went to look through the back window so that I could pull out of the driveway. Quickly stealing some glances at the triplets, I couldn't help but smile because of how lucky I was. Now to get to work for my (second) first day as Battalion Chief at Firehouse 71.
