Rudhita - Journey from responsibility to Love!

Prologue

This is story of Bondita and Annirudh.Love,respect and friendship between them was something so rare ,so pure that is could be worshipped.

Annirudh Roy Chaudhary was 21 years old when he returned from London as  barrister.He wanted to take India forward ,He wanted to bring changes. he came to India with lots of aspirations. He wanted brighter India,free from clutches of social evils.

He had 2 younger brothers - Som and Batuk.Batuk was youngest of all.
His father was a curt buisness man.His lifestyle was highly influenced by britishers .

His Kaka was a traditional man with traditional beliefs .He believed in God and was Annoyed by western influence in their house.There was no lady in their house. Annirudh' s mom passed away when he was very young ,his father drowned himself into buisness so Kaka had taken care of Annirudh as his own son .He never married, instead he ran the house.Everthing in their home was according to him.

After returning to India,When annirudh went to a friend's wedding he saw a little girl of about 13 getting married to an old man.She was shocked ,How could they .He could see an innocent girl with so much innocence in her eyes.She was so young ,had a whole life behind ,dreams to dream,life to live,goals to fulfill and here she was getting married to someone of her grandfather's age.

He was lost in thinking all this when he was suddeny the old man suddenly died while pheras were going on .He was old,he died.But Annirudh was more shocked to see people telling her to do sati means dying in fire in which old man's dead body will be burned ..Annirudh was shocked .He couldn't understand what was wrong with this people.Only path he could see to save the young girl was to take advantage of the beliefs of people and so without thinking anything he took vermillion and filled it in her hairline ,joining there fates forever.

"From today she is my responsibility ,did you all listen ???No one can even touch her ,From today she is my zimmedari and she is under my protection"

Little did he know that this was going to be start of a new chapter in his life .Little did he know that this girl was going to be everything for him and not just his responsibility.

Bondita was 13 years old .She lost her father when she was very young ,her widowed mother- Sumati  ,bought her up.Bondita was different then girls of her age,She had questions , questions about inequality , questions about gender bias at such a tender age.Her mami had drugged her and wanted to marry her to old man in half unconscious state just for some money.

But ,her fate changed as soon as Annirudh filled her hairline .Now she was bahu of zamindars of tulsipur.

When Annirudh took her home with her ,his whole family was shocked .His love ( or atleast he thought so)- Saudamini was devastated,so was Annirudh admired Saudamini ,He always thought that he loved her .

Saudamini was a beauty ,She was intelligent and also clever.She and Annirudh were friends from the time they were kids .They became friends and thought their friendship was love. Saudamini was a ambitious girl and her goal was Annirudh.She wanted to be bahu of zamindars and go to London and live a peaceful life with him.

When she came to know about Annirudh's marriage she was devastated not only because she lost her love but because her dream was broken, now she couldn't reach her goal, now she couldn't be Bahu of zamindars, now she couldn't enjoy that reputation which she always craved for and for what a small girl ??

That small little girl can never be perfect for annirudh.How would she ever keep him happy. She is not even that beautiful ,she is nothing in comparison to me ,she thought.

Finally she pledged to have Annirudh by hook or crook .She plotted against Bondita.Not once not twice but repeatedly.At last she was exposed and Annirudh cut all the ties with her ,villagers decided to send her away from tulsipur for some years as punishment.

Everyone in Roy Choudhary family began to love Bondita eventually ,She was a perfect bahu for Kaka ,a perfect friend for batuk and little sister to Som.Binoy wanted Saudamini to be his bahu as she had status ,He didn't like Bondita much but with time he accepted that she was Roy Chaudhary bahu but still he didn't like her and left no chance in taunting her.

Bondita was an intelligent girl.Annirudh taught her and she was a fast learner. Annirudh taught her about studies as well as gave her life lessons.
They developed unbreakable bond.

Annirudh answered all of Bondita's questions patiently.They were happy with the relationship they shared but it was after Bondita got her first menstruation when society began to put pressure on their sweet innocent relationship.It was when Bondita turned 15.

Kaka wanted them to shift in one room ,Bondita began to wonder that what was the problem in staying in one room .Kaka groomed her to be a perfect bahu and perfect wife.But Annirudh never let Bondita interfere all this with her studies.Annirudh considered Bondita to be his responsibility ,He wanted her to be away from responsibilities of being Roy Chaudhary bahu and his wife .He wanted Bondita to fly and not cage her.He wanted to provide her with an open sky in which his Bondita could fly high.
