Grace
"Come on! Go! Go!" Sand blew into my face; blinding my vision as the wind blew through my hair as I ran, following the rest of our group as we climbed up the large sandy hills, the hard ground now ripped away from me as I stumbled through the sand.
The sirens from the building could still be heard from all the way out here along with the searching helicopters as their lights shone down on the sand as more guards began rushing every which way in search for us.
"We'll lose them in the storm!" Thomas shouted from the front of our group, somehow leading the way in all the chaos, none of us having a clue as to where we were going.
More vehicles made their way into the scorch, along with more helicopters and guards as they all searched effortlessly for our small little group. "Everybody go go!" Thomas urged us to go faster noticing the ever adding amount of searchers "Stay low! Stay low!"
I moved to the front of our group now searching for a place to hide, speeding up within every few minutes, moving farther away from our group.
My eyes finally began to get used to the darkness of the scorch, finding a silhouette of some sort of building, quickly rushing over to it hoping it was a safe place to stay. "Grace slow down!" I heard from behind me however I ignored the shouts and carried on to the building.
I finally made it to the building, luckily a broken window was placed right at my feet, inspecting it to see if we could get into it easily.
Rustling caught my attention as Teresa caught up with me, standing by my side, looking down at the window as well. She lifted her head, looking at me in questioning to which I just nodded my head and began to carefully descended down the window, luckily a pile of sand stood under it making my descend much easier. "Grace! Wait."
I heard multiple shouts from my group however I chose to ignore them as Teresa followed me in to the building, both of us stopping at the end of the hill, inspecting where we were.
Eventually one by one the boys came sliding down the hill stopping in the same place we were, Newt falling to far and falling into me as I caught him before he landed on his face. "You okay?" I asked my brother as he breathed heavily, trying to catch his breath. "Ye. Thanks." He said with a light smile as I nodded in response.
Minho then pulled a torch from a backpack he had gotten, presumably one from Wicked, scanning it around the room, "Where the hell are we?"
"We gotta go." Thomas said, before anyone could guess at an answer, grabbing onto my hand and pulling me in another direction.
"No" Teresa said in protest however Thomas and me continued to walk in the other direction.
"We gotta-" Thomas began however was cut off.
"Grace! Thomas Stop!" The raven haired girl shouted causing all eyes to turn to her, and Thomas and me to stop as we stared at her shock, not really hearing Teresa shout like that before.
I realised what the outburst was for, neither me, Thomas or Aris had told our friends what had happened in that room, well not really the full story any way. "What's going on?" The girl questioned her voice much softer.
"It's W.I.C.K.E.D." Thomas said softly, now matching Teresa's voice, instead of being one full of urgency and stress.
My hand left Thomas' moving towards our group, to Teresa, placing a hand on her shoulder comfortingly "They weren't who they said they were, we never escaped Wicked. And they're taking people like us, they weren't taking us to safety, Resa."
