Chapter 17 (A chance)

“Are you sure you can walk, now?” I looked at Jungwon with a smile as I put the sock on my foot. “Yes, I'm not a weak person” I said laughing but I could see the sadness on his face. “How did you leave the clinic without us knowing?” He asked me

“It’s boring in the clinic, I prefer here in the dorm” He obviously didn’t like what I said. Who else would like what I said? I was in pain and needed to rest, but I was just stubborn. I had to go out just to follow that man. My father.

Now I looked at him with a questioning face. “Daniel, where is he? I haven’t seen him since that night. He didn't even visit me at the clinic” He scratched his neck. “I haven't told you yet, that night he went to their house. He doesn't want to let you know what's going on because you might be worried” He explained so I just pout.

“Are you sure you're really going to class? Doesn't the stitched wound hurt you anymore?” I just turned around and smiled at him “What about you? Doesn't your arm hurt anymore?”

“I didn't get a deep wound, not like you” He laughed, I smiled and messed up his hair “Don't compare my wound to your wound, it's just the same pain and we're both hurt” I laughed and pinched his cheek

“Let's go” I said, he was ready to support me when I stopped him “Don't, I can” I told him laughing, he smiled at me “Your energy is returning, hyung”

We walked to my classroom, I walked slowly because my wound was still a bit sore. Sometimes I see Jungwon looking at me and I can see in his eyes that he wants to lift me up and take me back to the dorm. “Where's Niki?”  I asked him, he just shrugged

“Aren't you going to ask what happened, hyung?” He suddenly asked, we stopped in front of the classroom and he smiled at me “No, I will know that too”

He motioned for me to enter, I nodded at him. Inside the classroom I saw Niki looking at me worriedly, I ignored him and just sat next to him. “Hyung, good morning” He greeted me but I still ignored him and just looked out the window.

I'm upset with him, I'm upset because he didn't even visit me. “Are you mad?” He asked “Hyung, I don't want to talk to the air” I secretly smiled, even though I wasn't looking at him I knew he was pouting.

“Why didn't you visit me at the clinic?” I looked at him seriously, I saw he swallowed and averted his eyes from me. “Because”

“Because?” I repeat what he says.
“I have something important to do” He answered quickly, so fast that I could hardly understand what he said. “Is that even more important than me?” I asked frowning.

“And why did you yell at me when you called? Of course Niki, I like you” I said, I saw his face light up “I like you as a friend, Niki. You are always there for me” He just looked at his book sadly.

“Is there a problem?” I asked him, he just smiled bitterly “Nothing” He stammered.

“Niki, do you consider me more than a friend?” I asked a serious question, his eyes widened and from his reaction I already knew the answer to my question. I was just shaken.

“Stop liking me, you'll just get hurt” I said smiling, even though obviously forced he nodded slowly and I saw tears forming in his eyes so I panicked. He moved quickly and he ran out of the room.

I just bent down and bit my lip. Maybe it was better, I had better tell him that. I don't want him to expect that he has hope in me. Because at first, I knew my heart was beating only with one person

The class started but Niki didn’t show up to me, even his shadow I didn’t see. Lunch break came, my shoulder slumped I walked to the snack bar, while walking someone grabbed my two shoulders. “You are sad” He said widening my eyes.

“Heeseung hyung” I mentioned his name, he came in front of me and messed up my hair. “Why are you so sad? You're such a naughty kid, you came out of the clinic without letting me know” He said to me but his smiles still lingered on his lips.

“Why? Are you my father?” I smiled at him, he had a poker face but he gave me a crazy smile. “No, because I'm your boyfriend” Confidently he answered, I smirked “As if”

“Oh its not” He said “Because I'm your husband” He said so I chased him, he ran and ran. I came up with an idea to stop him from running. I touched the part of my stomach that was sore and shouted “Ouch” I smiled when I saw him stop running and quickly approach me. He was about to lift me when I pulled his hair.

“What are you saying, huh?” Even though I kept on pulling his hair, he just laughed out loud. “It's true! It's really going to happen, just wait” He said while laughing, I felt like I blushed at what he said.

Don't be like that, maybe when I fall for you, you won't catch me.

“Oh why?” He asked innocently, I shook my head “Nothing” I answered gently, he took both my arms and faced him. “I'm sorry if my emotions always change, but there's only one thing that won't change.... My love for you”

He said smiling and I could feel the sincerity in what he said. “Trust me, even just now. Even just in this matter”

I couldn’t speak right away, I didn’t know what to do or what to tell him. I’m scared, I’m scared that maybe he’s just playing with my feelings “Trust me” Tears rolled down his eyes, I didn't want to believe what he was saying but I could feel his sincerity. “Give me a chance”

“How? How did you like me? Are you crazy already? Aren't you always pushing me away from you?” Laughing I said, he smiled bitterly at me. “Ever since you talked to me. You're the only person, talked to me like that”

“No wonder why he likes you too”

“Please? I don't want you to leave me, don't leave me. I'm begging you”

“I won't leave you” I told him but he shook his head “Can I court you, Kim Sunoo?” My eyes widened at what he said. “What?” Can't believe I asked “Give me a chance to show you I love you” He said and I was surprised at the last thing he did.

He knelt down, he knelt in front of me.

“Please?” He said to me like a kid.

You dont need to do that, I like you too. “All right, I'll give you a chance”
