Chapter 18 (Niki's feelings)

“Looks like you're having fun, huh” Jay hyung said as he put the chicken on Jungwon's plate “I don't like that” Jungwon said and returned the chicken to Jay's plate. “Give it to me, then” I said but Jay hyung took his plate away from me.

“It's sad that there are only four of us eating right now” Jake broke the silence “We can't do anything, Taki has gone home to Japan, Geuno is far from Seoul, I have no news of K, Daniel went home first, Niki I also don't know where that boy is, and Heeseung too--” He paused before looking and smiling at me “Heeseung is in Sunoo's heart”

Jay continued what he was saying so I spilled the water in his face. The two laughed out loud while Jay looked at me badly “What the!?” He growled angrily at me before he quickly stood up and walked away. “Why did you pour water on him?” Jake asked with a laugh, I just shook my head “I didn't mean to” I whispered.

But with everything that happened I still couldn't help but be happy. I never thought Heeseung would like me. He said I would trust him, so I would. I will trust him, the person I love.

While walking back to the classroom I said to the three of them that I would go to the bathroom first. “Let's go together” Jay said but I immediately shook my head. “Don't, Jungwon might miss you right away” I joked and walked away. “Be careful!” I just waved at Jay

I hurried to the bathroom and when I finished I looked in the mirror and washed my face, the smile still lingered on my lips. Until, someone pulled me and wrapped his arm around my neck.

He held my mouth so I couldn’t make any noise. My whole body trembled when I saw the knife he was holding pointed at my neck “Stay away from him while it's still early” And that's when I was nervous when I heard that sound from his phone. “I will kill you if you do not follow my orders”

He added. But I knew that voice had an effect--thingy, he still didn’t really want his voice to be heard by me. I felt pain as he brought the knife to my neck. He brought his mouth close to my ear, I couldn’t see him because he was behind me. He smelled familiar. “I hope you are scared” he whispered. Stay hoping, idiot.

He slowly lost his grip on me and I just heard the bathroom door open. I heard one of the bathroom stalls open so I was surprised. “Is anyone, there?” Stuttering I asked

“None, im an alien” He sarcastically replied, he came out of the stall and looked at me with a raised eyebrow. His gaze went to my neck “Go to the clinic” He said but I didn't speak or move at all.

“You heard--?”

“I don't care what I heard, the important thing is to heal your wound” He said and held my hand. I didn't protest anymore because I didn't have energy.

“Niki” I called his name but he ignored me and we just continued walking. He stopped outside the clinic and opened the door. “I'm just here, I'll watch over you” It was as if my heart was broken by the words he left out.

I swallowed as he slowly removed his grip on me “Go now, I'll watch you from here” Smiling he said

“Why don't you accompany me inside?” I asked but he just shook his head. “I don't want to come anymore, I just want to be here. I don't want to go away with you, I want to stop here”

“Go away, I'll just stop here” He added. “Can't you just walk away?” I asked while holding back my tears. “I don't want to go away, I'll just stop”

“I said I'll just stop here, you walk forward” I just shook my head and walked away, not to the clinic but to the greenfield. I knew he followed me, I sat under the tree. “Hyung, your wound needs to be healed” I just nodded at him and closed my eyes.

“Why does someone have to get hurt, Niki?” I asked him “To learn?” He replied making me smile

“Why do you have to love someone?” I asked again still closing my eyes. “To hurt and learn?” I laughed at his answer “If there is no pain, there is no love. In love there is pain, which only the person you love can feel”

“Like a fever?”

“Yes, it's like a fever. That fever that you want to repeat over and over so you can feel him. He's the pain that I want to repeat over and over again”

Smiled as I opened my eyes and looked at him. “I don't want you to like me because I don't want what they say to happen to the two of us. Strangers to Friends to Lovers and back again for being a Strangers” Laughing I said, I saw his tears dripping, I smiled looking at him while crying. “Why are you like that? Why are you so kind?”

“It's okay with me that you like me but don't love me” I said and wiped his tears “Because as long as you can go up, go up. I can't promise to you that I can catch you”

“You helped the boy who was being punched by his father. Do you still remember that?” I looked at him because of what he said “I followed you back then” Embarrassed he said “It was Christmas” He continued what he was saying. “You punched the man then you run with the little boy” He explain while laughing.

“But that's where I started liking you” He smiled at me “I love you, since I first saw you. I knew at first I was already basted but I want you to know how I feel. I've liked you, for a long time, Kim Sunoo”
