For the rest of the week, everyone was preparing a plan to take down Vince. After seeing Eden's reaction the other day, Jax was ready to rip Vince to shreds. Had already made phone calls to the Alphas around the area. They were all on their way to Taylon's pack.

Meanwhile, Eden was in the kitchen looking through the cupboard. Doctor Lesley left some of those colourful sweetness for Eden to help herself to. So far, the yellow ones were her favorite.

She rose on her tiptoes trying to reach the jar on the top shelf. She was just a fingertip too short. As she stretched further, a strong figure came from behind, picking up the jar. Eden tripped before falling into the arms of the intruder.

"Oops." The deep voice spoke looking down at the young girl.

Eden's cheeks blushed pink. She looked up and was met with Taylon's older brother, Trent. He handed her the jar which she smiled to say thanks.

"So, now that Taylon isn't at your side 24/7, what should we do?" Trent spoke up.

Eden looked over at Trent chewing on a yellow fruit burst. She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Come on, you can't stay cooped up in this joint the whole day." Eden hadn't planned anything for today. She was only down here to get a fruit burst before making her way back into Taylon's room. "Why don't we go for a walk?" Trent suggested.

Eden contemplated for a while. Trent was right, she couldn't stay inside all day. So before she knew it she was nodding.

The light breeze brushed along Eden's face as she followed Trent out of the pack house.

They walked in silence down the footpath and towards the gardens. Eden remembered coming here earlier with doctor Lesley.

"Y-y-ou and d-doc-" Eden stuttered.

Trent's lips curved in a slight smile, "You want to know why the sexy doctor hates me so much?"

Eden's cheeks stained red.

"We dated," Trent shrugged. He watched Eden's eyes grow wide, so he took this as an opportunity. He grinned widely at Eden before continuing, "We were mates." He blurted before continuing down the path. Eden's mouth dropped and her eyes grew even wider. Mates!?

Eden ran to catch up to her mate's brother who was now taking longer strides. Her tiny legs were struggling to keep up.

"We were in love. There was a time I would do anything and everything for that woman. Heck, I would still do anything for that woman. But it was also a time where I wasn't myself." Trent finally slowed down so Eden could catch up. "She was the right person, but it was the wrong time."

There was a change in Trent's manner. He stiffened as he walked and his eyes grew dark. He was sad. Eden only ever saw him in his snarky, sarcastic self. This was a different side of him.

Eden didn't want to push him further, so they continued down the path in silence.

The path continued through the woods. The sun was beginning to set, its warmth slowly disappearing in the cold air. As they got further into the woods, Eden could hear the sound of streaming water. She lifted her nose to smell the spring water. But as her wolf was still healing she was unable to smell that extra detail.

The two of them finally reached a stream. Eden noticed a wooden swing chained to a tree branch. She really wanted to try it out.

"Taylon and I used to race here when we were little." Eden didn't realise Trent had stopped. She walked back over to him with an eyebrow raised. "We used to be close, him and me. Whoever got here first would go on the swing first. I would always win though."
