The Next Day

A deafening growl pierced through Eden's ears waking her up from her sleep. Her eyes flew open instantly.

She ripped the duvet covers off her body and dashed to the balcony. Swinging the doors open, Eden looked out into the distance to find out what was going on.

There were crowds of wolves, both in human and wolf form gathering around outside. Growls and howls were cutting through the air as two full-grown wolves were crashing into each other. Both wolves were trying to gain the upper hand.

The sound of the impact was sickening as they bit into each other causing blood to matte their fur. The wolves' drawl was flying everywhere as Eden watched the dark grey and dusty brown wolf fight each other.

Not far from the fight was the man from last night. He was shirtless with his arms folded across his chest, causing his biceps to flex showing how big they really were. Taylon stood tall as his eyebrows furrowed together, concentrating on the two wolves fighting.

Another powerful growl ripped through the air. Eden's gaze shot back to the two wolves fighting. Her heart was pounding against her ribcage. Eden couldn't be around more death. She couldn't witness any more of it.

Soon, the brown wolf had been pinned to the ground. The grey wolf was on top of him bearing its sharp teeth and growling down at the brown wolf.

How can this be happening?

Eden then heard a screechy, high pitch scream cut through the air grabbing everyone's attention. Who in their right mind would scream and bring attention to themselves in a time like this?

It was then, Eden realized heads moving in her direction, including Taylon.

She froze like a wolf in headlights staring down at everyone on the field. But there was only one pair of eyes she was concentrating on. The Alpha's. The man who chooses what will happen to her.

Taylon's eyes went wide as he stared back at the girl on the balcony. He let out a soft sigh.

"Thank you, everyone." He spoke up, bringing everyone's attention back on him and off Eden. "You may get cleaned up, training is over."

Training?

All of a sudden, a slight grip was felt on Eden's arm. She pulled away spinning herself around nearly giving herself whiplash.

"Woah, Woah, Woah, it's just me." The blondish man from last night looked at her cautiously, taking a step back. His eyes held concern but quickly disappeared.

"I want to properly introduced myself, I'm Jace Tua." His eyes were filled with happiness and glee. "Taylon's Beta. His right-hand man, his best friend—"

"His pain in the ass." A husky voice was heard from behind Jace. A muscular figure was seen leaning against the door frame.

Taylon.

"Hey." His voice was soft as he shifted his gaze to Eden.

She bit her lip and took in deep breaths. As Eden looked up at the man, she noticed a frustrated look across his face, but there was also another emotion.

Worry?

"Would it be okay if I spoke to you alone?" Taylon asked carefully.

Eden sucked in a deep breath before nodding. Jace took that as his cue to leave.

"I'm sorry for the way I reacted last night." Taylon started as he made his way inside Eden's bedroom. Carefully, he started to make his way closer to the young girl. "It's just, when I saw the bruises I got so mad. I guess I just didn't know how to control myself."
