Eden felt the pull towards Taylon. A connection surged through her body like a wave of electricity lighting up a city. Her body had suddenly ached to be near him to be connected with him. She sprinted through the hallways towards him. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes and her legs were aching as they pulled her along the hard ground.
She needed to be with Taylon. To keep him safe, to protect him. The thought of him only made her legs move faster along the cold ground.

Taylon sat on the edge of the bed as doctor Lesley examined his body. His bruises all seemed to have disappeared, his movement was as good as it was before the beating —like he was never injured in the first place.
"How are you feeling?" Doctor Lesley asked.
"You know me, I'm perfectly fine." Taylon shrugged. "Where's Eden?"
Doctor Lesley injected Taylon with a needle, draining a few small tubes of blood. She needed to check nothing unusual was floating around in his bloodstream.
"I'm fine, doc, really. I don't need all this."
"You took a big hit, Taylon. Not only did you get a chunk of flesh ripped from your arm, you almost gave in to your wolf. That's even worse!"
"But I didn't."
"But, you know how bad giving into your wolf can be. You could have easily pushed your human down and allowed your wolf to take over."
Taylon let out a deep breath. "I know. We've all seen it."
There was a sad silence between the two. Finally, Taylon spoke up, again.
"Where's Eden?"
The doctor lifted her nose to the air. A slight smirk lifted in the corner of her mouth before saying, "I think she may be on her way."
Eden barged through the doors with wide eyes. Tears glistened in her eyes as she connected her gaze with his.
Her stomach had untied with knots as relief washed over her. Her mate was okay.
"You're too beautiful to have those tears stain your cheeks." Taylon's voice filled her ears and her heart fluttered. Eden's eyes still locked with Taylon's and his eyes stared at her lovingly.
"Hey, baby." His raspy voice spoke out.
More tears streamed from the young girl's eyes. She slowly made her way over to his bed taking in his appearance. She stood in front of him, eyes wide, unsure of what to do. So Taylon pulled her into him, ignoring the pain shooting through his mind, placing her comfortably on his lap.
The two stayed like that for a while. Both, in desperate need of each other.
"I'll give you guys a moment." The doctor smiled as she slipped out of the hospital room.
"I t-thought. I th-thought."
"Shh, I told you I would be back." A soft smile rose on Taylon's mouth. With his hands, he softly cupped Eden's face so she was looking up at him. "You brought me back."
Eden stared at those beautiful chocolate eyes. Her head tilted slightly in confusion.
"When I was in the woods, I came face to face with Vince."
At the sound of his name, Eden stiffened and her eyes widened.
"He got the upper hand and when I was down he tried to pull my wolf forward to take control over my human form. At that moment, I was so weak, I almost gave in to him. But you... pulled me back and made me stronger."
