"Nuff..." Astrid shook the young blonde in an attempt to wake him as he continued to toss and turn, letting out the occasional whimper. "Nuff, wake up!"
"NO!" The young Haddock gasped as he shot up to find himself in Gothi's hut.
"Woah, Woah. It's okay. It was just a nightmare." The older blonde assured. Nuff continued to breathe deeply as he took in his surroundings.
"Mom?" Nuff hissed at the sting spreading across his left shoulder.
"It's Astrid." The female corrected. "You're on Berk, remember?"
"Oh, right." Nuff realized. "Where's Zeph?"
"Relax, she's with Hiccup. There's no safer place." Astrid admitted. "Just take it easy. That was a pretty nasty blast."
"I'm okay. I just need to find my sister." He worried as he threw off the blanket and attempted to stand only to be halted by a familiar hand on his good shoulder.
"Nuff," She gently pulled him back down to the bed. "It was just a dream. Your sister's okay."
"How did you-?"
"You talk in your sleep," Astrid informed. "And you seemed pretty scared."
"I don't do scared." He glared.
"Nuff, what happened?" She repeated as she shuffled to sit on the opposite end of the bed. He let out a sigh but proceeded to tell Astrid about his dream. About how he was too late to save his sister, how everyone blamed him, accusing him of not even trying to protect her, how his sister's dragon was so distraught that she became hostile towards him.
"I just can't help feeling like I'm letting my parents down." He admitted. "I promised them I would keep her out of trouble but all I seem to do is lead her to it."
"Nuff, I have seen the way you look out for your sister. It makes me proud to be your friend." Astrid mentioned. "There's only so much a person can do. Especially when the person you're trying to help doesn't want it."
"It's just not like Zeph to be so reckless." He told her. "She's always been the responsible one. I'm the one that goes around chasing dragons and blowing things up and getting into precarious situations. She's usually working with dad or working on some new invention or studying in her room."
"Then maybe that's what you're missing." Astrid thought. "Everyone needs to relax sometimes. She's finally found that freedom. Where she can let loose and finally be a kid. Put yourself in her shoes."
"I'll just feel a whole lot better when I can get her home."

Hiccup and Zeph made their way to the arena where the other riders were waiting.
"Hey, how's your brother? Is he okay?" Fishlegs wondered.
"I don't know. I haven't been to see him."
"Don't you think you should?" Heather suggested.
"He'll be fine. Right now, I have a promise to keep." She mentioned as she ventured towards Hookfang's old cage, scooping up a few of his shedded scales.
"Uh, Zeph? What are you doing?" Hiccup asked.
"You'll see." She explained as she grabbed his sleeve and tugged him towards the forge, shortly followed by their dragons. She dropped the red scales into a small dish before scooping some of the white ones that Dart had scratched off and placing them in a separate dish.
"Care to explain what you're doing?"
"Dragon scales, mixed with dragon saliva, makes fireproof paint. Toothless' tail is made from leather, correct?" She checked. Hiccup nodded. "So, if you cover it with the paint made from dragon scales..."
"The paint will create a resistance to the heat, making it impervious to dragon fire." Hiccup finished.
"Therefore, making both you and Toothless safer in battle."
"Incredible." Hiccup gasped.
They spent the next few minutes creating the iconic red and white pattern on Toothless' tail fin before Hiccup decided to test it out. Zephyr stayed behind at the forge.

"Hey, Zeph." The auburn-haired girl was startled by Astrid's voice coming from behind her. She spun around, to see her brother, looking much better than before. She hid the small object she had been working on behind her. "What are you up to?" The blonde wondered.
"Nothing, just, a little project that I'm working on." She gestured to her brother, who took the hint and attempted to deter Astrid from the forge.
"Another secret project, huh?" He noted. "We'll come back later. She won't tell us anything until it's finished." He mentioned.
"You know, if I didn't know better, I swear you and Hiccup could be related." Astrid chuckled before heading out with Stormfly. "See you guys at the arena."
"Thanks," Zeph said to her brother. "Are you okay?"
"I'm always okay." He smiled.
"I'm really sorry about earlier." She sighed. "I was just so desp-"
"It's okay. You don't have to explain." He told her. "Zeph, we're gonna have our fights. We're Vikings. But, you're my sister. No matter what. And nothing you say or do is gonna stop me from caring about you."
Zephyr raced into her brother's arms, squeezing him a little too tightly.
"Okay, I'm gonna go to the arena and keep everyone distracted while you finish up here."
