A Third Board Meeting

Scrooge waited in the Board Room with his sister,Matilda,reunited brother-in-law Ludwig, and Brigitta for Emilie, and Gladstone.He heard about the argument that Emilie had with Carl about Walt.He knew what it was like to be blamed for something that wasn't his fault.It reminded him of the Spear of Selene incident.Donald blamed him when Della took the rocket, and when his great-nephews found out about the Spear of Selene,they blamed him.
Yes,Emilie's other siblings stayed, but Scrooge believed that was probably because of the wedding.If it wasn't for the wedding,they would of probably left too.Well,some of them might of stayed.All he knew is he had to make Emilie feel like a member of the family.No matter the cost.
"Hi Mr.McDuck!"said Emilie when she, and Gladstone arrived.
"Emilie!Gladstone!"said Scrooge getting up to hug them both.
"Aunt Matilda!"said Gladstone turning to Matilda, and hugging her.Even though Scrooge wasn't surprised,given his history with Gladstone,it still hurt a bit.Scrooge suddenly turned to Emilie.
"Sorry,Mr.McDuck,but hugging at a board meeting is unprofessional."said Emilie putting up her hand.
"Don't worry Scroogey!"said Brigitta getting up, and rushing towards Scrooge. "I'll give you a hug!"
"Back off blondie!"snapped Emilie taking out a taser, and a can of pepper spray. "I've got a taser, and pepper spray, and I'm not afraid to use them!"
"Okay."said Brigitta sadly as she walked back to her chair.
"I like her."said Matilda. "She's feisty."
"And yet at the same time serious."added Ludwig.
"Is that why you came?"asked Gladstone.
"That, and we wanted to know about your wedding plans."Matilda admitted.
"Oh."said Gladstone,turning red.
"Is this why you called this meeting?"asked Emilie as she went to her chair.
"Yes."said Scrooge. "We need to discuss the budget for your wedding"
"Okay."
"I think $3,000 is reasonable."
"Sure,why not?"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"Um-Gladstone,do you agree with this?"Scrooge asked Gladstone.
"Yeah.We can get a lot of the things we need for the wedding through my luck."answered Gladstone.
"Um,okay."said Scrooge.This for was easy.Too easy.
"What do you have planned for the wedding?"asked Ludwig.
'There it is.'thought Scrooge.None of their board meetings ended without an argument.
"Um-well,Emilie's decided to wear a dress that's been in her family for generations, and we've decided to have the wedding at Grandma's Duck's farm.But we still don't know if we want a theme or not."Gladstone said.
He didn't know why it was so awkward for him to talk to Ludwig.Perhaps it was because he was gone for all the time Aunt Matilda raised him.Or maybe Gladstone knew Ludwig,and Aunt Matilda had their own kids, and felt like a stranger to Ludwig.
"Please no theme."pleaded Scrooge.
"I suggested a Darkwing Duck theme,but Gladstone said no."said Emilie.
"And what's wrong with a theme?"asked Matilda. "It's their wedding.It's not like you'll be getting married any time soon."
"I'm the one paying for it."said Scrooge as calmly as he could.
"I don't mind."said Emilie. "As all as everything looks nice,everybody can eat the cake, and it's not raspberry, and all my favorite ships at the wedding."
"I'm not paying for boats to be there!"snapped Scrooge.
"Boats? I wasn't talking about boats. I was talking about this."said Emilie pulling up an app on her phone which she handed to Scrooge.
"DuckburgShipping.Net."said Scrooge in confusion.
"Oh god,no Emilie."said Gladstone slamming his head on the table.
"And this is what exactly?"asked Scrooge.
"An app with all the ships in Duckburg."explained Emilie.
"What is this 'Scrooge Ships' thing?"
"That's the category with all the ships that have you in them."
"I still don't know what that is."
"Oh.Shipping.It's when you want two people,usually fictional,people to be in a relationship.The term 'ship' comes from the second part of the word relationship'."
"Is there a Brigitta, and Scrooge ship?"asked Brigitta hopefully.Emilie laughed.
"No."Emilie stated after she was done laughing. "But people do ship you with Quackfaster."
"What?Why?"whined Brigitta.
"I don't know."
"You know,this thing scares me."admitted Scrooge as he handed Emilie back her phone.
"Well, I now know what to get you for Chanukah."said Emilie,completely missing what Scrooge was talking about.
"That's not what Scrooge meant."said Gladstone,finally looking up.Emilie thought for a while.
"Ohhhh.Well,I'm still getting him iPhone for Chanukah."
"You know,for someone who's so smart,your also a bit ditzy."said Scrooge.
"Hey!"said Gladstone, and Emilie at the same time.
"Oh,like you're one to talk.Tell me Scroogey,how's Goldie doing?"said Matilda.
"I bet you asked Emilie what she saw in Gladstone like you did with me regarding Matilda."said Ludwig.Scrooge didn't say anything.Ludwig was right,he did.Multiple times.Nobody notice Brigitta pouting.
"Are you going to invite her to the wedding?"asked Brigitta in a snide voice.
"Who?Aunt Matilda?Yeah."said Gladstone.
"No!Not her!Goldie!"
"Well,we haven't iron out the final details on the guest list,but probably."
"How could you two invite her?"
"Umm-I thought I was the one who was supposed to act like a bridezilla."said Emilie.
"And your doing a-weird-job at it."said Gladstone.
"Sooo.....I should be more demanding?"
"No,just keep doing what you're doing."said Gladstone.Emilie looked thoughtful,then looked at Brigitta.
"Your not invited because I don't want you to ruin Scrooge, and Goldie's romance."
"Seriously?You don't want to ruin Scrooge, and Goldie's romance?What about my feelings?!"screamed Brigitta.
"Why do I have the feeling this meeting's over?"said Ludwig.
"Because it is."said Scrooge,getting up.Emilie got up.
"Fine."she said.Emilie didn't care.It wasn't her fault that Brigitta couldn't accept that Scrooge had zero interest in her.
"Huh."said Emilie when she, and Gladstone were outside in the hallway.
"What?"said Gladstone.
"I think I'm fine now."
"As in-?"
"Yes."
