Gladstone was sitting at the kitchen table watching Emilie organize her index cards.
"I've been meaning to ask,why do you have all those ships on index cards instead of a piece of paper?"asked Gladstone.
"Because you can't put how popular a ship is on a piece of paper."explained Emilie as if this was the most obvious thing in the world.
"So,we're inviting all of those ships to the wedding?"
"Oh, yes.Do you want the ship names,or name of the people?"
"Name of the people.I'm the one writing the invitations because of your handwriting."
"Awww, come on,my handwriting's not that bad."said Emilie.Gladstone just looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Okay,it is, but not bad enough where I'm still at school."
"Just name the people,my dove."said Gladstone.
"You want first, and last names?"
"Yeah. I know nobody shares the same name, but it seems more formal that way."
"Okay.Scrooge McDuck,Goldie O'Glit.Matilda McDuck,Ludwig Von Drake.Donald Duck.Daisy Duck.Fenton Crackshell-Crabra,Grandra Dee.Gus Goose,Cissy Swann.Fethry Duck,Gloria Pascoalina.Della Duck,Drake Mallard,Launchpad McQuack.Penumbra,Danielle Duckman-"
"Hold on!Hold on!"said Gladstone shaking his hand in Emilie's direction. "Geez, I can't write as fast as you talk."
"Sorry."said Emilie.
"It's alright.Just let me catch up with what you said."said Gladstone.
"Okay."said Emilie as Gladstone wrote the names that Emilie mentioned that he hadn't written down yet.
"Okay, continue."said Gladstone. "But please, don't say the names in one breath."
"Okay,Huey Duck,Gosayln Waddlemeyer,Dewey Duck,Violet Saberwing,Webby Vanderquack,Lena Saberwing."
"What about everybody else?"
"Oh,right."said Emilie. "I guess we should invite family members."
"Yes,inviting family members would be nice."said Gladstone sarcastically.
"So,Louie Duck. I guess Courtney Mcduck, I mean she doesn't get along with her parents-"
"No,she doesn't,and we don't want family drama."
"So,no Courtney.But what about Dickie?"asked Emilie.Gladstone thought for a bit.
"It might be awkward to explain why her grandparents are there, but her mother isn't."said Gladstone.
"Not necessarily.Dickie knows her mother doesn't get along with her grandparents."
"Still...it still feels awkward."
"Okay then,Dickie's out."Emilie said, who suddenly paused. "In retrospect it's probably for the best.Dickie's really nice.Too nice,in fact.Makes me wonder about her."
"Emilie, I don't think Dickie's a serial killer."said Gladstone flatly.
"Fine.Whatever.So,Courtney, and Dickie are on the 'Brigitta List'.What about Officer Cabrera?"
"I see no problem with her coming."
"Okay then. That's everybody's families taken care of-"began Emilie.
"Um-actually Emilie,that's not exactly true.And you know it."said Gladstone.
"Fine!Fine! My family! I left out my family!"
"Actually, I was talking about Grandma Duck,Abner, and Dungan."
"Oh. I knew that."
"Did you?"
"No."
"So,are we going to invite Grandma Duck,Abner, and Dungan?"
"Grandma Duck, yes. The wedding is taking place on her farm,it'll be stupid not to invite her, and Grandma Duck said Abner, whoever that is, is making the archway,so it'll be rude not to invite him.But who's Dungan?"
"Abner is Fethry's brother.And Dungan is Abner's son."explained Gladstone.
"Oh.Well,I guess Dungan can come to the wedding."
"We'll have to get a kids' table on account that Dungan's four."
"And Pahooey, and Donna are one."said Emilie.
"So,we're definitely going to have kids at the wedding?"
"Of course! They're part of the family!"said Emilie.
Gladstone didn't say anything. He should of known that Emilie would have no problem with children at their wedding. It wasn't that he didn't like the smaller children in the family. He was just afraid that they would get rowdy at the wedding.Especially since Pahooey, and Donna were one year old.
"Gladstone,you don't have a problem with the younger kids at the wedding,do you?"asked Emilie,noticing Gladstone's face.
"A bit."Gladstone admitted. "I'm just worried that they might get kind of rowdy at the wedding." Emilie thought for a while.
"Well, I'm sure their parents can control them, can they?" Emilie asked.
"Yeah, yeah they can."said Gladstone. What was he worried about?Donald kept care of Huey, Dewey, and Louie all by himself for ten years, and Abner was pretty forceful when he had to be.
"So,the younger kids are on the 'to go' list. Now,on to my family.Annebelle?"
"Mmm-can she wear something-not so revealing?"
"I'll talk to her about it.I'll tell her, wear something decent,or don't come at all."
"Now that's harsh.Just tell her to wear something decent, and that there will be small kids at the wedding. I mean, she has standards, doesn't she?"
"Yes."
"That's no reason to give Annebelle a choice. Now,what about Izzy?"
"I see no problem with Izzy coming."
"Agree.Now,what about Kelly?"
"Unless we invite some transphobias, then no.But I think we know better than to invite transphobias."
"And if any of our guests turn out to be transphobic, then we can burn them alive."said Emilie with a sadistic smile, and equally sadistic gleam in her eyes.
"No.Just no."said Gladstone. "Now,what about Mimi?"
"I see no problem."
"Me neither.What about Bill,and Joe?"
"If they can make it down from New York, then yes."
"I'm sure they can.Now what about Denise?"
"If she can make from Spoonerville."
"You don't seem to have much faith in your siblings, you know that."said Gladstone as he wrote Denise's name on the 'to go' list.
"Okay, now for the friends of the family.First up,B.O.Y.D."
"Well, we invited the other kids.No reason not to invite him."
"Agree. So,are we also going to invite Gyro? I mean he did invent B.O.Y.D."
Yeah,that makes sense."said Gladstone.
"What about Mrs.Beakley, and Mrs.Quackfaster?"asked Emilie.
"Well,Mrs.Beakley is related to Webby, and we invited Gyro, and Mrs.Beakley. I see no reason why to not invite Quackfaster."said Gladstone.
"So,that's everybody,right?"asked Emilie.
"Well, not exactly."said Gladstone. "There's still at least one person."
"Who?"
"You-know-who."
"Who?Voldermort? I don't think he'll want to come to the wedding.Although I've always wondered if he ever went to any of the Death Eaters' weddings."
"No,Emilie.Carl,and his wife Virginia."said Gladstone.
"Oh."said Emilie. She knew that.Emilie was just hoping to avoid it.There was an awkward pause.
"Do-you-want him...to-you know,come?"
"I don't know. We're just giving out invitations to the wedding. It's the invitees' decision if they want to come."
"That's true."said Gladstone.
"So,maybe we send them an invitation, and hope that Carl wouldn't cause a scene."
"Well,if you're still uncertain...maybe we shouldn't invite them."
"Yeah."said Emilie. "But,I'll feel a bit guilty about it."
"Emilie,"said Gladstone, taking her hands into his. "This is about what makes you feel comfortable. Now,answer me honestly:Do you feel comfortable with inviting Carl to our wedding?"
Emilie thought.Did she?She wasn't sure.Emilie had gotten over the argument she had with Carl, but they hadn't talk to each other since she threw him, and Virginia out of her house.Would Carl cause a scene?Or would he be happy for her? There was only one to find out.
"Let's invite him."said Emilie.
"Are you sure this is what you want?"asked Gladstone.
"Yes."said Emilie.
"Okay,if you're sure."said Gladstone uncertainty as he wrote down Carl, and Virginia's names on the 'to go' list.
