Emilie had never been to the country before,so she didn't know what to expect from Grandma Duck's farm when she, and Gladstone got there.
"So, what kind of farm does your grandmother have?"asked Emilie.
"It's a big farm.With crops, and stuff."explained Gladstone.
"Stuff?"
"Yeah,farm stuff."
"Like what?"
"Farm tools,farm machinery-"
"Machinery? I didn't know that farms had machines."
"Yeah.Tractors, and a farm hand"said Gladstone.Emilie looked at her hands.
"A farm hand" said Emilie.
"Yeah,a farm hand. His name is Gus."said Gladstone as he drove up to Grandma Duck's house.
"Woah."said Emilie as she,and Gladstone got out of the car.
"Yup.A farm."said Gladstone.
"Gladstone!"said a voice,which belonged to Grandma Duck.
"Grandma!"said Gladstone rushing up to her.Emilie didn't say,or do anything. She didn't know what to do.Yes,she was marrying into the family, but she never met Grandma Duck before, and never been on a farm before. She was out of her element.
"And you must be Emilie!"said Grandma Duck, turning to Emilie.
"Yup."said Emilie.
"It's so nice to meet you!Gladstone's told me so much about you!"
"All good things I hope?"
"Oh,yes."said Grandma Duck, who then added "There's no reason to be nervous, dear."
"Emilie! Is that you?!"said a voice familiar to Emilie. It was one of the friendly voices she heard when she moved to Duckburg.
"Cissy?"asked Emilie.Suddenly Emilie felt better.Someone other than Gladstone was here.
"Goosey Gus told me you were coming today but I didn't expect it to be so soon!"Cissy said.
"Goosey Gus?"
"Yes.Don't you call your fiancé something cute?"
"Only when we're alone."
"Oh,how romantic."said Cissy. "Are you planning on having kids?"
"Cissy!"scolded Grandma Duck.
"No,it's okay."said Emilie. "If anything, I actually expected you to ask that question."
"Really?"said Grandma Duck.
"I think it has something to do with her upbringing."explained Gladstone causing Emilie to nod.
"Well, I think it's too early to think about children."said Grandma Duck. "Let's go meet Gus on the field."
"Field?"
"Farm field. He's tending to the crops."explained Grandma Duck.
As everybody followed Grandma Duck Gladstone couldn't help but be thankful that his grandmother changed the subject of children.
He knew that Emilie, growing up with ten younger siblings, wouldn't want a lot of children. But him, true,he didn't want a lot of kids, but he also didn't want any child they had to be an only child. He knew what that was like to be an only child.Being alone, watching Donald, and Della play with each other while Fethry play with his brother,Abner.
"Gus!"said Grandma Duck when everybody arrived where Gus was.
"Is it time for a break yet?"asked Gus.
"Sort of.We need to figure out what kind of wedding Gladstone, and Emilie want."
"Oh."said Gus putting down his pickax. He sounded disappointed.
"Oh,don't be like that Goosey Gus!"said Cissy. "It'll be fun!"
"We have discussed some ideas."said Gladstone. He knew Gus hated to work,so if Gus knew that he, and Emilie had some ideas Gus wouldn't be all that upset.
"Really?What kind?"asked Gus.
"Well, I was thinking something like out of the Steven Universe episode 'Reunited'.You know, with flowers, but not with a chuppah.Instead of a chuppah,we can put the flowers on an archway-type thing."said Emilie. The only person who looked like they knew what Emilie was talking about was Gladstone.
"What?"asked Emilie. "What part of that didn't make sense?"
"The 'Steven Universe' part."said Grandma Duck.
"The chuppah part."said Cissy.
"The archway-type thing."said Gus.
"Do I have to draw a picture?"yelled Emilie into the sky.
"Emilie!Emilie!"said Gladstone. "Calm down!"
"Okay,okay."
"Weddings are always stressful."said Grandma Duck. "Why don't we go inside to discuss this?"
"Yeah."said Emilie. She had no idea why she flipped out like that.

                                       *    *   *

"So this is the inside of a farmhouse, huh?"said Emilie.
"Oh yes."said Grandma Duck. "Not that much different from a regular house isn't it?"
"I guess.
"So,why don't you draw what you were describing earlier?"said Grandma Duck giving Emilie a piece of paper, and a pencil.
"Okay."said Emilie,who began to draw,with everybody watching.
"You're putting circles on the archway."said Gladstone.
"We haven't decided on what kind of flowers we wanted"explained Emilie.
"What about roses?"
"I was thinking violets."
"Isn't that the name of one of the boys' friends?"
"Good point. I don't want them to think that we play favorites."
"So what kind of flowers do you two want?"asked Cissy.Gladstone, and Emilie looked at each other.
"Um-I guess something that represents us both."said Emilie.
"What about blue Peonies?Peonies are known for being lucky, and you wear blue."said Gladstone.
"Or a mix of blue and green Peonies?"
"Cyan?"said Gus.
What's Cyan?"asked Emilie.
"A mixture of blue, and green."
"Oh.Okay."
"Oh,Goosey Gus,you're so brilliant!"swooned Cissy.
"Is the bouquet going to be Cyan Peonies too?"asked Grandma Duck.
"I guess so."said Emilie."I mean, I want everything to match."
"But,also,we don't want it to be religious."said Gladstone.
"We can manage that."said Grandma Duck.
"But that sounds like a lot work."said Gus.
"Actually, I think Abner would be able to make the archway."
"So,I don't have to do anything?"
"Actually, yes, there is something I want you to do."
"Oh.What?"
"Pick the best place to put the archway. That's where the wedding will be."
"Okay."said Gus as he left the house.
"I'll go with Goosey Gus. I want to make sure he picks a romantic spot."Cissy said as she went after Gus.
"Good."said Grandma Duck. "Now that Gus is gone,we can discuss what kind of cake you two want."
"Oh,we're really fine with anything."said Gladstone.
"As long as it's not raspberry, everybody can eat it, and is delicious."said Emilie.
"Of course I can do that."said Grandma Duck.
"So you can make it diabetic friendly,in case anybody becomes diabetic before the wedding. And gluten-free,in case someone has to go on a gluten free diet before the wedding."said Emilie.Grandma Duck just looked at Emilie.
"Maybe...you should just buy a cake instead."said Grandma Duck.
"Okay then."said Emilie.
"With my luck we could probably get one for free."said Gladstone.
"I'll like to meet the person who gives away free wedding cakes."
"Well,I can still plan the menu. Can I?"asked Grandma Duck.
"Well,yeah."said Gladstone.
"Don't see why not."said Emilie.
"Great. That's everything that needs to be arranged here."
"Okay."said Gladstone. "We'll see you later Grandma."
"Yeah,tell Cissy I said bye!"said Emilie.
"Good bye!"said Grandma Duck waving them off.
"So,that's a farm? said Emilie when she, and Gladstone were on the road.
"Yup.What did you think?"asked Gladstone.Emilie thought for a while.
"Meh."said Emilie.
