Hermione woke up with a start. She brought her hands to her eyes and tried to rub the sleepiness out of them. She looked around, and when she found the fireplace of the common room instead of her vacant bed, she tried to stand up, but she couldn't. She looked down at her waist and furrowed her eyebrows when she saw a pair of arms wrapped around her. She looked behind her on the couch and found Draco. His eyes were closed and his arms were wrapped protectively around her. When she tried to get up, his embrace simply tightened.
She furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to remember what happened yesterday.
It was Ron's birthday. Fred had wanted Hermione to throw him a party to lighten his mood a bit, and she had reassured Fred that they were going to throw him a party. They had done that, and then they had played and eaten and drank, but what happened next?
She barely remembered something from the other night. It was all foggy.
"Pass me the bottle." She remembered someone saying this. She doesn't remember who though.
She focused more on trying to remember, and thankfully, she remembered a few other things.
"You already drank a lot, Granger. We have classes tomorrow. Gonna relinquish your title for the night?" It sounded like Pansy. Yes, Pansy was taunting her. She remembers now.
"It's already too late for that." That was her, she had voluntarily wanted to drink more firewhiskey. And if she remembers correctly, she has classes today.
Classes.
Classes?!
She scrambled out of Draco's embrace and fell onto the floor with a loud thud, she groaned and rubbed her forehead.
"The fuck?!" Draco's morning voice came from above her, and she looked up in time to meet his eyes.
"We have classes!" Hermione exclaimed before standing up quickly. She conjured a glass of water and gave it to Draco before looking around. She finally noticed how everyone else was in the common room.
Harry and Pansy were both tangled together in a huge armchair. Ginny and Blaise were in the same position that Draco and Hermione were in earlier, but this time, they were on the floor. Ron was on the couch with Padma in his arms. Theo and Luna were both in an armchair together, much like Pansy and Harry. Neville and Hannah were sleeping at the end of the couch that Ron and Padma occupied. And finally, Daphne and Adrian were leaning against the couch, Daphne's head resting on Adrian's shoulder.
Hermione had asked Professor McGonagall to lift the binding spell for the night so that some people could join the party without worrying about getting their wrists burnt.
Hermione conjured all of them some cups of water and briefly thought if she should drench them with it. She quickly dismissed the idea as too evil and spoke in a loud voice that woke everyone up.
"What's going on?" Ron's groggy voice came from the couch. Padma moved in his arms and wrapped an arm around his torso.
"That matter, birthday boy, is that breakfast is about to end, and we all slept in here after your birthday." Hermione said, levitating a cup of water towards him.
"I need coffee," Blaise murmured, and Pansy followed by, "Yes, me too."
Hermione sighed before conjuring two cups of coffee. This was ridiculous, they weren't supposed to sleep in here, they were supposed to go to their dorms where they could sleep peacefully and comfortably.
