Draco laid in his bed, his arm under his hand and his other hand on his exposed torse, as he stared at the ceiling. His mind was speeding past any thought possible and only stopping at that one thought.

That one night.

It was morning, and when he woke up, Hermione was already awake, in fact, she was just entering the bathroom. She had smiled at him softly, sheepishly, sweetly, before entering the bathroom and closing the door behind her. And then, all that was left for him was to drown in last night's dream. His mind felt almost...well–mindless. He couldn't stop thinking about her, about Hermione, about her eyes, her lips, her freckles, her curls, her everything. She was taking up every feather of space in his mind and he didn't care; he wanted her to be his only recurring thought.

He said that he loved her...out loud. For the first time.

Should he just tell her? He didn't want to just say it like that, he didn't want to throw those three words casually; he wanted to make it perfect. He wanted the stars to be their only witnesses, and to do that, he would have to be more ready and more courageous and –he can't believe he is saying that– more Gryffindor-ish.

Maybe not that last part though, it sounds disgusting.

He was lost in his thoughts, but when he heard the door of the bathroom opening, he turned his head and watched as Hermione came out, a towel wrapped around her body and her hair falling over her shoulders. Merlin, she looked so beautiful to the point that it was scary.

She gave him a smile, and he smiled back, but it quickly disappeared when she uttered something that was just– unbelievable in his opinion!

"Look away,"

He furrowed his eyebrows before retorting with, "Based on last night's events, I would think that this wouldn't be necessary."

"Shut up and turn around before I blind you temporarily."

Her tone was playful, and he matched her energy by gasping dramatically and throwing a hand on his heart. "How rude! You don't deserve my devotion."

"And yet I have it."

When he turned around, he smiled as he said softly. "And yet you have it."

He heard her moving around, and to eliminate the silence, he decided to tease her. "What are you wearing?"

"Clothes."

"Color of your underwear?"

"You would have to look and see, but since I am forbidding you to do so, it will all be up to your imagination,"

"You are doing this on purpose," he buried his face in his pillow, shaking his head slowly.

"Of course I am," that— beautiful human being that he is in love with.

He groaned.

It was a few minutes later when he was told that he could look now, and when he did, he found Hermione standing next to his bed.

"I...I wanted to talk to you about something," her voice was small, and he decided that he hated that.

"You don't have to be nervous each time you have to talk about something serious with me, not with me." He said, smiling softly as he reached for her hands and pulled her down next to him on the bed.
