Chapter 6-
Meanwhile, in the Plaza Mayor, we look around everywhere to try and find the clue that Cassia could have left us.
We check in every window, door, brick, statue, and archway, but no clue at all. We had arrived here at night, so it is empty, and luckily no one is here to suspect anything about us searching every inch of the Plaza Mayor.
After hours of searching, we gather all together around the statue of Philip III. We even search the statue for any gaps where a note could be fitted into, but nothing is found.
After one last examination of the archways, I find a brick sticking out from the rest. It is burnt all over, and I manage to pull it out and, burnt on the other side, is my name in tiny letters.
'Cassia' I think. I call Dimitri over who has the same look on his face I had when I found the brick. He takes it off of me and starts to turn the brick on its side.
"Relax dog boy, I'm helping," He says when he sees the wide-eyed expression on my face. It seems like Dimitri thought something would happen. He turns the brick on its side again and, to our surprise, hinges are on the back. I am so confused.
"I knew it," Dimitri mumbles as he opens the box- brick- thing. Honestly, I have no idea what it is. Inside is a rolled up piece of paper which contains the clue we have been looking for all night.
The note contains... nothing. Dimitri closes the box and lifts it up against the sunlight. That's when I see it, written in what seems like invisible ink is a message;
Liam, The Romanians have been catching on to me leaving messages, so I had to make this one more hidden, sorry if it was hard to find. I have to write quickly, we are about to leave. Go to the salt mines in Poland. You might be able to catch us up. I love you, Cassia xx
As soon as we let the rest of the Volturi know about the message, we go to the hotel where we left Marcus and Didyme and inform them about what we found. Didyme comes out and we inform her but as we do, she gives a gasp and clutches her bump.
Her sisters rush to her side and she reassures them that the baby is only kicking. Then we spend about half an hour wasting time, seeing if the baby will kick again. God, vampires and babies, who knew?!
