Summary:

"Tommy, are you back?" Dream speaks, and the sentence left him breathless.

His body feels like it's folding in on itself, like his chest is being sucked into an endless black hole. Dream's head could be 500 metres underwater, with immense pressure and causing him to be slightly delirious, yet he wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Or: After Tommy finishes streaming, he finds Dream unresponsive with pain in his chest and struggling to breathe. From an ocean away, he tries his best to help his brother.

Or x2: I really wanted to write a Tommy and Dream siblings fic so I combined it with an angst prompt I've been procrastinating on :)

Tommy clicks end stream, leaning back in his chair and breathing out loudly. The seat creaks lightly, rocking back on its hinges to accompany the weight shift. He brings his arms above his head, folded and supported behind him and lets his eyes fall shut, exhaustion overcoming him. The blonde hears movement through his headset but pays it no mind, instead reaching up, stretching his arms out, feeling the joints shift and pop, releasing the built-up tension from the stream. This moment feels peaceful, and Tommy basks in the post stream calmness. After a relatively heavy stream, it's nice to sit back in silence, knowing his brother is there on the other side of the world, relaxing with him.

Dream places his head on his desk on the other side of the line, still feeling the uncomfortable feeling overcome him. His chest tingled, and his breathing feels off, but he pushes it aside. He internally shakes off the sensation, trying to rid it from his body and mind.

He and Tommy had just done an intense lore stream; of course, he might be feeling a bit weird. Since Dream's the villain in the DSMP, lore usually leaves him feeling strange and uncomfortable. He doesn't acknowledge that he's felt like this all day. The blonde's hips shift restlessly, the curled over position making air harder to take in.

He sits up straight in a more open position, trying to ensure his lunges had enough space to get air. Dream's eyes close, and he rejigs his sitting position. The man sets his legs out in front of him, planting his feet firmly on the floor and straightening his back. By pressing his heels into the carpeted floor, Dream tries to ground himself more.

Subconsciously, his mind begins to go through a few breathing exercises, trying to take a deep breath. The first few don't make it all the way, leaving Dream unsatisfied with the short breath. Trying to not get frustrated, he forces himself to take a full breath. Dream winces, though, when he hits the deepest point of his breath, and a shock of pain shoots up through his chest. Dreams eyes snap open, and his hand flies to his chest, clutching it like that will help the situation. He freezes, staring at the prison cell on the monitor in front of him, not trusting himself to breathe.

Tommy stands, not realising Dream's struggle from the other end of the line, announcing that he's heading to the bathroom and will be back to chat to the older. Dream nods, feeling unable to speak. The blonde hears a clatter through his headset, and he instinctively knows it was Tommy tossing his headset down.

Dream's chest feels ever-tightening, slowly crushing his left side. It feels as though he'd been placed in one of those machines people use to compress items on TikTok, but slower. The man feels lightheaded, suddenly feeling the need to call out to his brother over the line. But alas, the younger teen had left already, and Dream is panicking. The dots are slowly connecting, red string on a police chart. The tingle he's had been ignoring in his left arm has become a numbing feeling, and he's struggling to lift it. Somewhere in the blonde's haze filled mind, he realises what's happening, sending a jolt of fear through his body.
