I was ridiculously nervous on the way to the premiere. James had to hold my hand to stop me fidgeting. “Relax,” he whispered as the car slowed down. “What if the media hate me?” I questioned. “Charl, you look incredible. There isn’t one negative thing they could possibly say about you,” he told me as the car stopped. The car door opened and James got out. He held out his hand for me and I took it.
As I got out the car, I saw that the rest of the lads and Claire were already there and waiting for us. James put his arm around my waist as we walked towards the lads. “You alright?” Barclay asked me. My face was clearly showing the nerves I felt. “Yeah,” I smiled, relaxing my face as much as I could. We were all ushered along the red carpet. I didn’t know which way to look as lights from cameras were flashing all around me.
“Charlotte, relax,” James whispered in my ear as people continued to take photographs. James and I were ushered further down the red carpet. He slipped his hand into mine as we caught up with the rest of the lads. “Oh, Charlotte, this is Josh and George from Union J,” Tom told me as I saw the two familiar lads stood beside Tom and Barclay. “Hi, it’s nice to meet you,” I said to them, holding out my hand for them to shake but instead I received hugs from them both.
“I can’t believe James has finally got a girlfriend,” Josh said to me as if James being in a relationship was unheard of. “Especially one so beautiful,” George added. I blushed and smiled. “You’re so sweet,” I replied, turning my body towards James. He was looking down at me with a smirk playing on his lips. I saw Chris over James’ shoulder. He looked uncomfortable and I assumed it was due to his knowledge of what was going on.
“How did you two meet?” Josh asked, taking my focus off Chris and onto him. “She was doing some work experience at the studios,” James replied. I smiled as James’ hand rested on my waist, trying to convince them that we were a couple. “So you’re at college?” George questioned, “What are you studying?”
“Media,” I answered with a smile still plastered on my face. “Ah, exciting. We’d better get back to the lads. It was really nice meeting you,” George told me. He gave me a hug and kissed my cheek before walking away with Josh. “That was good. They’re convinced,” I whispered in James’ ear. The ten of us went inside the building where the premiere was due to take place.
The premiere dragged on as I became more excited about spending the night with Reece. I knew I’d have to stay with James until we were well away from the premiere. And much to my dismay, the car left without us. “We’ll have to walk for a bit until we can find a taxi,” James said, taking my hand in his. Some fans started screaming as James walked around the corner with me. “Or run.”
I looked down at my shoes then up at James. “Mate, I can’t run in these heels,” I pointed out. I took my shoes off and started running along the pavement with James. “Ouch!” I yelled as I stubbed my toe. I hopped on one leg as I held my injured toe tightly in my hand. “What did you do?” James asked as he tried not to laugh at me. “I stubbed my fucking toe!” I exclaimed, making James laugh. I threw one of my shoes at him which he caught. “Come on, I’ll give you a piggy back,” he told me before turning around and bending down slightly. I jumped onto James’ back before he started running down the street.
“Do you even know where we are?” I asked James. “Trafalgar Square,” he answered before putting me down. “Mate, how the hell are we meant to get back to the apartments?” I questioned and he shrugged. “Put your shoes on. We can grab some pizza,” he told me. I rolled my eyes and smirked before slipping my shoes on.
James and I walked to the nearest Dominoes and ordered a pizza. “So how was your first premiere?” James asked as we waited for our pizza. “I really enjoyed it. Do you think your fans will like me?” I questioned and James nodded straight away. “Of course, what’s not to like?”
When our pizza was ready, we left the takeaway and started walking along the well-lit streets of London. People stumbled out of clubs and fell into taxis. “My dad hasn’t contacted me for three days,” I told James as I threw a pizza crust into the box. “Hasn’t he? Did you tell him you’re staying with us?” James questioned and I shook my head. “Maybe he just wants to give you space or something,” he replied. “James, I’m sixteen years old and he hasn’t seen me for three days. Wouldn’t you be worried?” I asked and he shrugged. “Don’t worry about it too much. I’m sure he’ll call soon.”
“What time is it?” I asked James. I’d left my phone at the apartments as I hadn’t brought a bag with me. “Eleven. We should probably be getting back,” James replied. “What?! It’s eleven? Oh shit. Reece is going to kill me!” I exclaimed, dramatically throwing my hands up in the air. “Why?” James questioned, clearly confused. “I was meant to meet him at a hotel so we could spend the night together. James, he’s going to be sat there all alone, thinking I’ve stood him up.”
“Right, just calm down, we’ll go now, okay?” James spoke and I nodded. We got into a taxi and I told the driver the address of the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, Reece was nowhere to be found. Had he forgotten? We went back to the apartments to find Reece sat at the table. His jaw was clenched and his eyes were cold.
“It’s nice of you to finally turn up,” Reece said as James shut the door behind us. “Babe, I’m so sorry, I lost track of time,” I told him. “You were having so much fun with James that you forgot about me, right?” he questioned and I shook my head. “Reece, I’m sorry,” I told him, sitting at the table. I touched his hand put he pulled it away. “I’m your boyfriend, Charlotte. Not James.”
“Reece, it’s not her fault. It’s mine. And can I just point out that she is doing this for you,” James told Reece. “How about you back the fuck off?! This is nothing to do with you,” Reece snapped, clenching his fists as he stood up. “Reece!” I yelled, standing up. “You can’t expect everything to happen exactly as you want it! You got yourself into this mess and I am trying to help you but it isn’t fucking easy. I love you and you know that. But you have to understand that it’s going to be hard,” I told him. I didn’t say anything more. I just stormed out of the room and slammed the door of James’ bedroom shut.
