Chapter 5

The three of you stepped down from the building to a beautiful afternoon. As Eun-Hye said, the sky was clear with the spring breeze blowing lightly around you and swirling with beautiful green leaves.

"I also want to know what married life looks like." Seyeon frowned as we took a seat on the bench. "I think that boyfriend of yours is going to propose soon," you smirked. "Ay, how would you know that," Seyeon rolled her eyes.

"I think so too. You have been dating for almost four years already," Eun-Hye stated, nudging Seyeon's arm. "I'm jealous of Y/N," Eun-Hye pouted. "She's getting married to a literal prince!"

"Eh, what are you talking about? Prince?" you said gloomily. "Yeah, he has tons of money. He looks unreal and everyone wants to date him!" she stated matter-of-factly.

'Eun-Hye might be right, but she doesn't know what's waiting for me. She doesn't know about Jimin's dark past. She doesn't know that if I happen to feel anything for him, he has a possibility of not feeling the same way and just be stuck in the past,' you thought dully.

But that's not what I promised my soon-to-be mother-in-law. I am going to try and change him, make him forget his past. And maybe even live a happy and successful life with him.

But I know things might end badly, and not how I want. Was agreeing to the marriage a good idea? Why am I thinking that, I haven't talked to him!' you pushed your disturbing thoughts away.

"You're going to keep in touch with us after your marriage, right? Not completely forget us, right?" Seyeon said with an audible concern in her voice. "Don't worry guys," you smiled. "I'll call you every day!" you exclaimed as the three of you shared a group hug.

"Guys, I think we should head back," you said, breaking the hug. You walked back to the apartment with Seyeon and Eun-Hye to see them packing up to leave. "Since the engagement is over, we should have them married soon," Mr. Park said.

"Yes, we can start with the preparations," your dad said, looking at you. You smiled back at him before bowing towards Jimin's parents. "We should take our leave now," Mrs. Park said.

"Already? Stay for a little longer," your mom said. "We have to get back before sunset. Sorry, next time," Mrs. Park smiled before leaving with her family.

"We'll be leaving now Y/N, hmm? Take care," Eun-Hye said to hear a 'bye' from you as she walked out of your apartment with Seyeon.

The wedding planner came to your house for the fourth consecutive day. You were tired of all the work and choosing. You even had to pick out a white wedding dress, obviously. With matching heels, earrings, necklaces, and a veil.

You didn't even bother to go on a diet. Moreover, you ordered pizza late at night just because you felt like it. You finished the slice you were chewing and kept the rest for your parents.

You went to your room and threw the 'Advanced English' textbook on your desk; your entrance exam was near. But for some reason, you couldn't concentrate. You were getting married in less than half a week.

It's not that you regret your decision. Love and dating were probably hopeless for you, anyway, so why not give this arranged marriage a go? But he has a past. A tragic one.

You decided to scroll on your phone and let your friends know that you were getting married soon, inviting some of them. You finally switched off the phone and fell asleep as the last day as a 'Miss' ended.

Jimin's POV

I looked at my watch and saw that it was already past midnight. Might as well complete this later. I'm exhausted and I have to wake up early tomorrow. So I shut the computer down for today and stacked the papers

Mom and dad have been busy with planning and making choices for my wedding. They think maybe if I got married, I would forget about her. Honestly, I hope so too but how do you just forget your first love?

I walked downstairs from my office and found pots with a note from my mom that says 'Eat up as soon as you're done. Made with love just for my one and only son'. Wow, that rhymes. She's always trying to cheer me up, and of course, I'm grateful.

So I switched on the lights of the enormous villa, walked up to the dining table, took the lid off the pot, and saw some delicious kimchi fried rice. I then proceeded to do the same with the second pot which had ramen.

As I was helping myself with the dinner my mom cooked, I was scrolling through social media and came across some posts.

I sighed before shutting off the phone. I'm so tired of everyone setting such high expectations and working hard to satisfy them. Without thinking more, I finished eating and brushed my teeth before heading to bed.
