The sun was setting by the time the Dawn Treader approached the Lone Islands. Caspian observed it by looking through his telescope.

'The Lone Islands. The port of Narrowhaven.' Drinian stated.

'Strange.' Caspian said. 'Not a Narnian Flag in sight.'

'But the Lone Islands have always been Narnia's.' Edmund argued, as he took the telescope from Caspian, observing the islands himself. It looked abandoned. Raina came up next to him.

'Seems suspicious.' Drinian warned.

'I say we prepare a landing party. Drinian?' Edmund proposed. Drinian looked down.

'Forgive me, your majesty, but the chain of command starts with King Caspian and Queen Raina on this ship.' Drinian stated, bashfully. Raina looked surprised.

'Right.' Edmund replied.

'Uh..why me?' She asked, confused. Caspian turned to her.

'You're High Queen of Narnia. You have supreme authority over Narnia as the direct descendent of Aslan. Also you're kind of a Goddess.' Caspian mused. Raina's eyes widened slightly before flitting over to Edmund. She and him had the same thought.

'Let's check it out. Drinian?' Raina turned to Edmund first, who nodded and gave her a grateful smile. She then turned to Caspian, who nodded. He turned to Drinian.

'We'll use longboats. Drinian, pick some men, and come ashore.' Caspian ordered as Drinian nodded.

'Aye, Tavros?' Drinian turned to the minotaur. He nodded and turned to the crew.

'Man the longboats! Furl the sails, and prepare to drop anchor!' Tavros boomed as the crew busied themselves.

Soon, Raina, Caspian, Edmund, Lucy, Reepicheep and surprisingly, Eustace were in one boat, along with some more men, as they rowed to the shore. Reepicheep piped up.

'Onward! The thrill of the unknown lies ahead.' He said, joyfully as the boat came to a stop at the shore.

'Couldn't this wait until morning?' Eustace grumbled.

'There's no honour in turning away from adventure, lad.' Reepicheep replied, as Eustace scowled.

Caspian and Edmund got off first, the former hefting a crossbow over his shoulder while the latter kept his hand on the hilt of his sword. Raina and Lucy got off soon after. Raina suddenly tripped and was about to go sprawling on the rocky land, had it not been for Edmund catching her by her waist, securely. She met his eyes and took a shaky breath.

'Th-thanks.' She mumbled as she steadied herself.

'Anytime.' Edmund replied, smiling bashfully. Someone gagged, as Raina and Edmund turned to see Eustace on the boat, a disgusted look on his face. Raina looked at him, pointedly. His demeanour changed soon after. Edmund eyed Raina, curiously.

'I've never been able to shut him up.' He confessed. Raina chuckled.

'Listen.' Lucy began. 'Where is everyone?' Her hand going to her long dagger.

Meanwhile Eustace struggled to get off the boat, as Reepicheep intercepted him.

'Come on, jellylegs.' He joked and reached a hand out to Eustace, as he scowled.

'I'm capable of doing it myself.' He responded, angrily, just as he went sprawling on the rocky ground, yelping in the process. Reepicheep sighed and rolled his eyes.
This caught the royals' attention as they threw annoyed glances his way.

'And you're certain he's related by blood?' Caspian asked.

'I was just going to ask that myself.' Raina commented.
