Sang's P.O.V.

The boys don't have time to check up on me, and there's nothing they could say anyways that would make me sit this one out. We just have to work fast.

The demon we had been chasing, who looked almost afraid before, now looks totally confident.

It's two against three, and despite the drug in my system, I've been getting stronger thanks to Michael. I think we have fairly good odds.

"Miserable lost fools," the minion says. "You dare try and thwart my plans."

His voice, just like the first night I encountered him, is loud and blocks out the music.

"Didn't want to make things too easy for you," I respond.

Raven sends another punch right into the Basic's face.

I close my eyes and focus on entering the minion's mind. He has strong mental walls that make it difficult to get through.

Like last time, I'm in pain. Except this time, it's not just in my head. It feels like my entire is being crushed by the demon.

I hear the demon's voice in my head. "You are far too weak to succeed."

And I'm also far too stubborn to give up. I think back to my first lesson with Michael and how he taught me to put up walls of my own.

I take a deep breath and focus with all of my might, considering there are many distractions around me. As the mental wall gets higher and higher, the pain begins to go away.

Now that I'm protected, I take another lesson from Michael and attack the demon with my mind. I send blow after blow at the demon, and I can almost feel his surprise. And I can also feel that what I'm doing is weakening him.

I open my eyes. "Ready to give up?"

God, I hope so. Because I don't think I can take much more.

Raven has the Basic pinned down, while Gabriel stabs him in the chest and then he's gone.

"Clearly I underestimated you. You're not as helpless as I thought you would be," the demon grins. "We need strong bodies in our army. Astaroth will show you mercy if you pledge your allegiance to him."

I turn to Gabriel and Raven. "I think somebody is a little afraid."

Clearly my mental attacks didn't completely wear him down, because he gets up to attack.

Gabriel and Raven tackle him to the ground while I focus on going back into his mind.

I hit the minion with all my strength, while Gabriel and Raven do the same physically. It's hurting me too, and I'm feeling about ready to pass out, but I can't give up.

Again, I send blow after blow and kick after kick. I can feel it working, no matter how much it hurts me, I have to keep trying.

I can feel his defenses crumble and then I can feel his fear.

I open my eyes once more and the demon is at our feet.

The demon laughs, even though he's been beat. "You know, Astaroth can give you more than just a place in his army. He can give you your heart's deepest desire."

"And what's my deepest desire? A pony?," I ask.

"He can give you your memories back."
