Sometimes life gets hard,
And it's hard to see the light.
But just remember that you made it here,
And you're getting past the darkest nights.
I'm sure we haven't been through the exact same things,
But I know how tough it can get.
I'll always be here to smile,
Or hold you if you need to cry.
I pride myself on being
The friend that everyone needs,
The one who always hands out a smile
And has a shoulder for your tears.
I don't think people realize
It's okay to be afraid,
And that crying doesn't make you weak.
It just tells me that you've been strong too long,
So it's okay to weak right now.
Here in this moment,
I'll be your sword and shield.
You don't need to be strong,
Because I'm here to help you along.
Yes, life is sometimes scary
And maybe a little dark,
But that's okay.
There's a dark path in the forest,
The one no one wants to take.
It leads you to a sunny meadow,
And a clearly watered lake.
It's okay not to be okay.
It's okay not to be strong all the time.
I'll be here to pick you up when you fall.
So just lean on me for a bit.
