I walked over to tory's apartment where we planned to hangout. she was sitting outside on the cement ledge of a fountain in the apartment complex.

"hey!" i said while walking over to her, sitting down beside her.

she was looking down and playing with her fingers. "hey. " she responded quietly.

i pursed my lips and looked over at her, "your mom not doing well?" i asked. i already knew the answer but i didn't know what else to say. i hate seeing her upset.

she nodded and sniffled her nose. she looked up at me and smiled lightly. "at least you're here though. finally someone realized i was sick of being alone." she subtly laughed.

i smiled and gently grabbed her hand to hold it. we locked eyes for a good minute.

"i'm so lucky you came into town. i haven't had a true friend for awhile now." she said with a gloomy look.

i chuckled, "friend?" i shook my head and smiled.

tory playfully hit my arm. "shut up." she laughed.

we shared a laugh and continued to look at each other.
before i knew it, tory put her hand against my cheek and leaned in for a kiss.

when my lips touched hers, i had butterflies fill up my stomach. i never felt so safe with anyone until now.

we both pull away, and tory stood up and held out her hand for me. i grabbed her hand and stood up.

"we should go inside. it's getting late. we can go watch a movie or something." she said. she slowly pulled my hand and led me inside.

we lay on her bed and she turned on netflix. she lay down beside me and we tilted our heads to look at each other.

i couldn't help but smile. she just makes me the happiest. she's so misunderstood. i just want to make her as happy as she makes me.

i turned over to face her, and i put my hand around her waist. "you know i care about you right?" i asked with a smile.

she put her hand on my arm that was around her waist. "trust me i know, and i can't thank you enough. i've needed someone like you in my life." she said with her soft gentle voice.

we scooted closer to each other and held each other in our arms. she ran her fingers through my hair as we watched a movie.
