I walked into prom holding my dates hand, but it wasn't who's hand i wished it was.
Johnny Lawrence was sitting at a round table with his friends. he had recently gotten dumped by Ali Mills so he was officially back on the dating market.
i had hoped and dreamed that he'd ask me to prom since he's available now. i had always thought we hit it off together, but he never asked.
unfortunately, my date turns out to be one of Johnny's buddies, Bobby. as amazing as he is, i had always wanted to go with Johnny. i've known him since the second grade and have been planning prom with him since. he obviously doesn't know this though.
this makes it even more difficult since i'll have to be near Johnny most of the night, and not as his date.
Bobby and i made it over to the table. the only open seat for me was next to Johnny.
as i sat down, i noticed from the corner of my eye that Johnny was checking me out.
"lookin good y/n!" he smirked.
i awkwardly moved my hair behind my ear, "thank you johnny." i shyly responded.
throughout the night, johnny and i kept sharing glances at one another.
bobby ended up leaving the table and never came back. i eventually found out that he had left the prom with another girl. this night has already turned to shit.
i sat alone at the table, picking at the snacks i had left over.
johnny came up to me and held out his hand.
i looked up and giggled "what?" i asked playfully.
"dance with me pretty girl." he smiled and looked at his hand, then back at me.
"do i have a choice?" i joked. we shared a laugh.
"come on, it'll be fun" he said in a raspy toned voice. it was so incredibly attractive.
i put my hand with his and he gently pulled me up. we made our way to the dance floor, still holding hands.
he put his hands on my waist and pulled me in close. i put my arms around his neck.
we started into each other's eyes. he then let out the cutest smile.
"you look amazing tonight, just like you always do." he complimented me.
i could feel my face getting red, and i could tell johnny noticed too since he let out a chuckle. "you're too sweet." i smiled.
i couldn't help but blush around him. i melt every time i interact with him. the fact that we were dancing together on prom night like i've always planned, made me the happiest person in the world.
