Courtyard 2:30pm

I was walking out of my second class for the day already stressed. Exams were coming up and I'm so not fucking ready. I hate taking test and I haven't been studying like I should. It's hell out here man!

College has been kicking my natural black ass and I'm really trying to survive this shit man, honestly. How do people make it through this because I'm truly thinking about quitting.

My phone started ringing in my back pocket. I took it out to see my father calling. I guess it's to talk about our upcoming festivities for thanksgiving and Christmas. They always make my favorite time of year hell!

"Hi papa." I answer sweetly knowing damn well that wasn't how I wanted to speak.

"Hi my love. How are you doing today?" He asked politely and I just rolled my eyes. They always want to do the fake ass small talk before saying what they really called for. Just get to it.

"I'm fine papa. How are you?"

"Well, are you ready for break?" His tone of voice changed to a more comfortable one. I was confused on our entire interaction.

"Yes sir. Are you ready for me to come home?"

I joked trying to test the waters.

"Yes. I miss you so much." Woah?! Is this man dying or something. Never once since I've left home have we had a conversation like this. He doesn't talk to me like I'm his daughter. More like a damn stranger.

"I miss you too papa." I smile. I was actually happy to hear him say that to me. It made me feel good.

"I was calling about the holidays. You know our usual gamble." He laughed lightly sounding cheerful. I liked this side of him.

"Yeah I figured."

"This year we're doing a holiday kick off so you'll need to get four dresses and everything to match. Your mom made you a hair appointment for the day you and Gio come back. Take Shaheem with you when you go dress shopping because he needs 4 suits. His mom asked if you guys didn't mind matching. I told her it wouldn't be a problem so make it happen please." Jesus man, this year is going to be even worse then last year.

Last year we just ended up doing a New Years party but this time we have a holiday kick off?

My parents are known for their luxury events and parties. They're professional event planners and they have their own business.
