It has been another week since Diamond and I's date. We both continued to talk but the sexual part of our relationship slowed down. Which I didn't mind. I didn't mind just getting to know her.

Today was the day of my mom's cookout. She had one every year around this time of year. She told me to invite all my friends... so I did. I invited Sin, and shit even Dani. That voice in the back of my head was telling me not to invite Diamond but I couldn't help myself. I was hoping this shit would end well consider Kia was coming too.

I had already got dressed and I was just waiting for Kia. I honestly didn't want her to come. My moms ain't even like her.

"You ready yet Kia!" I screamed. She was going to make me late with all this shit. She was pissing me off.

"It takes time to get this cute!" She came out in some short ass pink shorts and a white crop top. She looked like she was about to go sleep. I was too tired to even argue. She know that shit was not appropriate for today.

I just grabbed my keys rolling my eyes and walked out the door. The more the days passed the more annoyed I got with Kia. Everything about her just wasn't... Diamond

I started up my car and waited for her to get in. When she finally did I pulled off. My mom's house wasn't that far of a drive so the ride went pretty smooth until Diamond decided to call me.

"Who the fuck is Diamond?!" Shit.... I looked at Kia and then back at the road.

"My friend." Ain't no point in lying.

"I ain't never heard of you hanging out with no Diamond! All's I know about is Sincere's light skin ass." She replied. I felt my eye twitch as I looked back at her.

"I can't have no other friends? Damn." I mumbled under my breath and continued to drive answering the phone. I gave Kia a knowing look telling her to chill out.

"Hey Diamond." I answered the phone. She was out here looking pretty as ever. Shit was fucking with my head. I was trying hard not to open my mouth and say some shit that will hurt Kia's feelings.

"Hey Sevyn. I wanted to ask if you guys needed anything from the store. Before I get there." She applied her lip gloss to her lips and I could feel Kia watching me as I stared at Diamond stuck.

"Nah, I think mom is good. If you want just pick up some more water." I replied. Diamond nodded and looked up. She popped her lips and gave me a soft smirk. Only one I would notice.

"See you there." And she hung up with that. Let out the breath I was holding and Kia looked at me still. I continued to drive in silence. It was probably the quietest I've heard her.

As soon as we got to my mom's house, Kia hopped out the car without saying anything. I took a deep breath knowing this shit was not going to go well at all. I knocked on my mom's door and she answered the door smiling. That's before she noticed Kia.

Kia walked in giving my mom nothing much but a wave and headed right to the back.

"Why did you invite that girl?" My mom asked as she slapped me on the back of my head.

"Because you said invite all my friends... plus she already knew it was happening so it was no way I couldn't invite her." I sighed rubbing my head. Her heavy handed ass.
