I had to rush out from the bus, I don't mind being bumped by strangers, I just have to go home as soon as I can.

I slid off my shoes and enter our home. The lights were already turned off but Mom is still up, sitting on the couch. While the TV was set in highest volume. She's watching some old movies, from late 90s. She's too focused, she wasn't even able to notice me until I sat beside her.

"Mom, are you okay?" She didn't respond but one that one stare of her eyes, I knew she's in pain. I've dealt with it. But this is a matter of husband and wife relationship. "Dad's really drunk, huh? Did he hurt you?"

The greatest thing about my Mom, is her emotional warmth, she does not conceal anything when it comes to her emotion. "...When we got married 19 years ago, he never lay his rough hands on me, Hina."

Tears flowed. Those salty trickles is who she is —one who feels. You aren't cold like a machine who doesn't feel any emotions or who wants only what it is sensible for themselves. "I will go talk to him, tomorrow...and figure things out. Don't worry, Mom."

"You don't have to. I will handle this my own way, just focus on your study. Alright?" She wiped off the tears on her face. "Go wash up and I'll heat the soup I made for dinner."

I nod. "Where's Haruto?" I can hear Mom sighs. "After your Dad made a fuss, he decided not to go in, he informed me that he'll be in the comic book store to rent some of his books..."

The audacity of this young man to make me go home in a flash when he's not even home, himself. "Should I fetch him? Or..."

"He's going to be fine, he'll be home any minute now." Mom assured me. Then, we heard unlocking sound of our front gate. "See?"

I was so ready to whoop Haruto's ass, he's not supposed to trick me like this. I'm his older sister, he should go home by now. I flung open the door ready to headlock him right away. But—

"Y-yuki?"

"Hi, you looked disappointed upon seeing me." He joked, I shook my head vigorously. "Aha, no. I was just surprised because..."

Mom cut me off. "Oh dear, is it Ishikawa Yuki?" She shoved me aside and let him enter our house. Dad was sound asleep so my birthgiver doesn't mind. She's more interested on making feel Yuki satisfied with his sudden visit.

"Why don't you sit there and talk to Hina? I will try to cook something just for you because you've come so far. It's insensitive for me to make you go home with empty stomach."

*Now is not the right time for coming over for a dinner, Ishikawa Yuki. I really hope you know that.*
