{Last chapter of my little Halloween AU, I hope you enjoyed!}

Lucius Malfoy was a force to be reckoned with, and many people avoided him just because of that. He was cruel, vile, and would use anyone to further himself. To him, people were building blocks, and he had no issue stepping on those around him to get on top. He was most certainly feeling the loss from Draco's lack of attendance. It had only been a few weeks, and already his contacts were lessening. His son had more uses than Lucius originally thought, and he had been a fool not to utilize him more.

It was time for his son to stop fooling around and get serious about his future. Lucius would not let Draco throw away everything that he had worked for because of some... boy. He certainly should not be frolicking about wasting their valuable time by scaring people. If Draco wanted a job, fine, but it should be something respectable. He was a Malfoy, not some degenerate lowlife.

He was planning on telling his son just that, but he found him not to be home.

"Where is he?", he demanded of Narcissa.

"He's at work, I believe."

"My son doesn't need to work, and if he wanted to he should continue the family business. His studies should be his most important priority."

"Draco is doing just fine in all of his courses, Lucius. He cares deeply about Harry."

"That boy has no business corrupting my son!"

"Lucius, Draco is 19 years of age. He is old enough to make his own choices. Harry is wonderful, and you would know that if you were ever around to meet him."

"I don't have the time to waste on someone so insignificant. He'll be out of Draco's system soon enough, and he'll come around to see my side of things."

"Don't speak about him like that. He has a name Father. It's Harry. Use it or don't speak about him at all."

"Draco, I thought you were at work."

The worry was not lost in Narcissa's voice.

"I was. I came back home because Harry is taking me on a date. I switch shifts on and off with another Uni student. I just got out of the shower."

"You're not going, you're staying here. That boy is ruining your future."

"Harry is giving me a future, something I never thought I would have before. I am going out with him. I wasn't asking you permission to see him, I'm telling you that I'm seeing my boyfriend."

Spinning on his heel, Draco went back up to his room. He had heard everything his father had been saying about his Harry. Slowly, Draco had been leaving more and more items at Harry's house. He had a feeling he would be given an ultimatum. Because of this, he had finally begun to pack his bags. They had been slowly making their way into the trunk of his car. All he had left that was important had been tossed into one last bag and dropped off of his balcony. As soon as he had closed the balcony door, Lucius harshly opened his bedroom door.

"You dare speak to your father in such a manner? I raised you better than this Draco!"

"You didn't raise me at all. Not really."

"I'll give you one chance to apologize."

"You owe me an apology Father. You've tried to turn me into you. I looked up to you when I was younger. Hell, I wanted to be you. You seemed to have everything that you wanted and more, and I thought that was what I wanted. The only thing you're lacking is happiness.

I haven't been your son in years. You view me as an extension of yourself in which you can do whatever you please. Not any longer. It's time that I start doing things for me."
