Maya's POV

Today is not a good day. Lucas and Riley had their fight first as a couple and boy can they fight. Lucas has a temper and Riley well she's my little cupcake but she can be stubborn too.
I've been trying to get them to resolve whatever that is going on but somehow things are getting worse.

"Riley how can you not have faith in me?"
"Lucas I have faith in you but you really think you can make it into the football team. You got crushed in freshman year and I told you this even then!!" Riley explained herself but I don't think I'm on her side this time. But I won't say that out loud. I'm loyal to her and always will be.
Riley turns to me.
"You tell me peaches what am I saying wrong?"
"Just tell me what should I say" I hesitantly reply.
"See Riley even Maya thinks I can make it." Lucas snapped.
"Hey you know what you can't make it and don't you ever shout on Riley okay huckleberry!!" I can't see my best friend like this. Even if I have to be on the wrong side I'll always stick up for her.

Lucas went silent and went away.
"Lucas wait..." Before Riley could reach out to him he was gone.
"Peaches did I go full Riley on him?"
"Yeah honey, you did. And I am on his side with this. You need to have a little more faith in him. I mean you could see him ride a freaking bull so why can't you support him on this?"
"Maya I don't know why he thinks he can do anything but he should be practical. And did you see the way he shouted at me ?" Riley keeps on complaining.
I know for a fact that Riley out of everyone has faith in every person she knows. Then why is she being like this?

I go and find Lucas sitting on the benches near the field. He looks sad.
"Hey huckleberry !"
"Hey" he replies to me in a passive tone.
"You know Riley didn't mean what she said. She's just scared that you'll be disappointed."
"Then why did she say all that! She can see me ride a freaking bull but this scares her?!" I am surprised by how he and I thought exactly the same thing.
Lucas looks at me weirdly.
"What Maya ?"
"Nothing it's just that I said exactly those words to Riley."
"You did? But you didn't support me in front of her. Why?"
"Because she's my best friend ! Hell she's my sister and no matter what happens she and I still have the thunder and lightning power and that kinda gives her the edge over you" I say with a smirk.
He smiles.
"You're a great friend Maya."
"Thanks, and you are too. So listen to me and go talk to her about this."
"Yeah I will thanks."
I just smile.

Later at Topanga's

I meet Riley and Lucas at Topanga's and they've finally sorted things out I think. Suddenly Lucas grabs his stuff and storms out. Woah what the hell happened. I go find Riley and ask her.
"Riley what happened?"
"I told him the truth Maya".
"What truth?"
"I heard some seniors that they weren't planning on taking him on the team and the try outs were just for formality and that's why I didn't want him to go because no matter how good he did, he'd fail."
"Woah! But why is Lucas upset with you ?"
"He isn't. He's just upset. I want to give him some time."
Riley's right. Because right now he doesn't need motivation that Riley gives, he just wants to let out his frustration.
I suddenly have an idea.
"Riley can you do something for me? Actually for Lucas."
"What? It doesn't involve some crazy stunt does it?"
I just nod.
"Oh boy."
"Ring power."
She knows she can't do anything now.
"Thunder."
"Lightning."
