Lucas' POV

Maya's mad at me. I know it. She has given me silent treatment the whole day. How can I tell her what's happening ? Riley and Farkle have been trying to make me feel better but at this point everything is getting worse. I'm literally falling in love with this girl and now that I think about it, it's been happening so slowly that it took that many years for me to realise it. But she doesn't like me. And right now she's mad at me.
As soon as the school ended I went to the same place that Maya showed me once.
I grab my gloves and throw them. Nah I'll just use my bare hands. I keep punching the bag till my hands hurt. I'm so angry at myself.

I think I heard footsteps and when I turn around I see Maya.
Oh no.

"What the hell Lucas? What are you doing?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I knew something was up with you so I thought you might come here."
"Wow. You know me so well."
"Cut the act Friar. Tell me what's up. And your hand is bleeding. Let me get the first aid."
She brings the first aid kit and starts cleaning the blood off my hand.
"Lucas this isn't healthy. I didn't tell you about this place so you could use it to escape from your problems."
"I know I just..." Oww. She presses on my wound too hard.
"Just tell me Lucas before I decide to kill you." She is frustrated I can see. She's hurting to see me hurt. I can see it in her eyes.
"Maya I..." I hesitate.
She grabs my shirt brings me closer to her.
"I'm in love with you."
As soon as she hear those words she loses her grip on my shirt.
"You're kidding?"
"No Maya. I'm in love with you and you like Josh."
"Yeah I do like Josh. Lucas since when ? How ? Why? I thought you weren't over Riley but this... You know you chose her once."
"I know. I know everything and that's why this is so hard. You can't imagine how much it's hurting and I'm not talking about my hand."
She gives me a look I've never seen before. She's really hurt and sad.
"Maya I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I'm sorry."
"You don't have to be sorry huckleberry." She sits down beside me and continues, " I've never seen you like this Lucas and to think that it's because of me, how can I not be sad. I'm hurting you. And I didn't even know till now."
"Maya you're not. It's me. I don't know how but I think subconsciously I've loved you since the day I met you."
"C'mon Lucas. This is just the Rileytown kind of talk. And right now it's not funny."
"I'm serious. You wanna know the truth right? Fine then. Here's the truth." I close my eyes gather the courage to say something I've only felt and not even accepted to myself.
"I love you. I'm in love with you. The day I met you I thought you were crazy. You came to me and in 30 seconds we became exes. But then I met you in school. There I thought you were crazier. But then as I got to know you, I realised how much you love Riley and her family. How much you cared about Farkle.How much you miss in life and how hurt you were inside because of your father. I let you call me names because I liked it. I loved your collar grab. It made me feel like you pay attention to me. I had no role you know before that. Riley was your best friend, Farkle was in love with you since 1st grade so you guys were pretty close. But I knew that I never had a chance so I didn't let myself think about you that way. But then I saw your face when art class was about to be cut. I was so upset. I danced with you on semi formal and I never thought I would. And Texas changed everything. I always thought you were beautiful but that day I was mesmerized. And you know what happened after that. I made the choice not just for myself but for everyone in the group and I wouldn't have made it if you didn't tell me to go to her. You knew she and I owed it to ourselves to give it a chance. And you did that for us because that's who you are. And I'm in love with you Maya Penelope Hart."

She's silent and clearly in shock. She's dating josh and I messed up her mind. Ohh you huckleberry what did you do!!!!
