Enjoy the story.Thorin has been traveling for a few days to the Shire where Tharkun told him the burglar lives. He has a few doubts that a halfling will be able to help the company in the quest but he decided to wait with judging till he met him. Tharkun reassured him that the hobbit is a good burglar and agreed to host them and help in the quest. And as much as Thorin hated to admit it, even in his own mind, Tharkun does know what he is doing.
Suddenly Thorin saw a light further on the path. Wondering what that could be he gripped his weapon and slowly moved forward. But before he could get very far the light shot towards him. He didn't even have the time to evade it. The moment it touched him he fell unconscious. No one was around to see him disappear.
In a hobbit hole in the Shire Bilbo was sitting at the table just done with eating breakfast. He was thinking about all the things he has to do today and with which to start. He just decided that he should start with repainting his front door when he noticed a ball of light hovering over the table. But before he could do anything it shot towards him and he fell unconscious. No one noticed that Bilbo suddenly wasn't at the table anymore.
At the same time various dwarves on the way to the shire noticed the same light and disappeared too.
When Bilbo woke up the first thing he noticed was that he was not in his home. Shocked he started to look around. The room he was in was a dark red with one wall in white. There were four black couches standing in a half circle facing the white wall. On the ground around him where thirteen unconscious dwarves.
He heard a groan coming from one of the dwarves. Looking that way he saw a dwarf waking up. He had long dark hair and a serious face.
Thorin woke up and battle instincts had him immediately sitting up and looking around. Seeing the others had him kicking the closest one to wake him up who he absentmindedly noticed was Dwalin. He reached for his weapon to defend himself and his companions from whoever had taken them here. Instead of gripping his weapon he felt nothing but air. Looking around he saw that he and the others were weaponless. The kidnapper must have taken them.
The others who had all woken up in the meantime came to the same conclusion. "Is everyone alright?", asked Thorin. Everyone answered in the positive. Dwalin turned to Thorin. "Where are we?". They all tuned to Thorin hoping he knew. "I don't know. Last thing I remember is traveling when suddenly a light headed my way. Is that the same for you?" "Yes, I also saw a ball of light headed my direction.", Balin said. The rest followed with their own stories.
"I did see a ball of light before I woke up here.", Bilbo said. He wondered if it was a wizard that brought everyone here. But why would they do that?
Thorin heard someone else answer the question too and turned around. He saw a hobbit standing there. He insulted himself for not noticing him before. What if he had tried to kill him? He could have killed him before he even noticed the hobbit was there. "Who are you? Did you bring us here?", Thorin demanded. Bilbo shook his head. "I'm Bilbo Bagging, at your service,", he bowed a little knowing he should stay polite,"and I have no idea how I got here or where here is for that matter."
" I was the one who brought you here.", a female voice came from the ceiling, startling everyone. "Who are you, where are you and why did you bring us here?" Thorin demanded from the voice. The voice laughed. "Who or where I am doesn't matter, Thorin Oakenshield. And I brought you here to show you the future." Everyone was silent for a moment wondering if it could be possible. "You want us to believe that you can show us the future.", Thorin asked incredulous. "It is possible and you will believe it", the voice said forcefully. They could hear the power in her voice. "Why will you show us the future? Is it that bad?", balin asked worriedly. "It could certainly use improvement.", the voice sounded both amused and sad they noticed. Everyone was worried, what could be so bad that they needed to know the future. Fili and Kili where also very excited thinking it very awesome. They were whispering to each other about possible things that could have happened. "You will watch the future like a movie, which is like moving pictures. The movie will automatically pause when you talk. If you have questions or need things just ask and then I'll decide if I will answer or give it or not. Now, sit down so we can start." "And what if we decide we don't want to watch?", Nori demanded, angry that the voice thinks she can just tell them what to do. The others murmured agreements. "You won't get out of here till you have watched it. So, introduce yourself to Bilbo and sit down.", the voice answered.
Everyone remembers that they hadn't introduced themselves yet, because the voice interrupted them.
"Thorin oakenshield, at your service."
"Balin, at your service, mr. Baggins."
"Dwalin, at your service."
"Fili" "and Kili" "at your service."
"Dori, and my brothers Nori and Ori, at your service, mr. Baggins."
"Bofur, and that's Bifur and Bombur, at you service."
"Gloin, at your service."
"Oin, at your service.""I guess we should sit then, I think.", Bilbo said. Everyone agreed and sat down. On the couch on the right went Dori, Nori and Ori. On the next couch went Bofur, Bifur and Bombur. Gloin, Oin, Balin and Dwalin went on the couch next to them. Om the last couch went Thorin, Fili, Kili and Bilbo. When they were all sitting and facing the wall it started.
